Aw ladies,
This whole ttc malarkey is awful. Reading your posts I seem to be very very lucky with my family and friends and the support of people around me. I have been quite open with people about our difficulties, when people ask or make comments about us having a baby my stock response is "yes, we would love to, but due to reasons outwith out control it's not going to happen the normal way" or that kind of thing. People either say ok and it's never mentioned again or start asking questions, which I answer as I feel appropriate for how I feel, who is asking etc. Lot's of people seem to know someone who has had fertility issues and have a story to tell. What really winds me up is being told to relax and it will happen-no it won't mrh has a sperm count of zero, he has no vas deferens and it will never happen naturally, Some people just don't know what to say, my SIL is clearly very uncomfortable around me just now, she announced her pregnancy the week I started my treatment-I'm just delighted to be having another niece or nephew soon.
Lucy and Tea, my heart goes out to both of you, having a BFP then losing after IVF/ICSI must be devastating, the sadness of BFN after treatment was awful, but to have that BFP snatched away.....I can't think how to express the sadness of that
BZ, how are you? hope you're keeping well
Becca and Part Mouse, hope you're both ok
Thanks for the weight loss comments ladies, it has taken me a couple of months so far, I had put on a couple of stones between stopping smoking, ICSI then staying off work for a couple of weeks after the ICSI, so I've signed up to myfitnesspal, stopped eating lots of rubbish, started drinking 2 litres of water a day and doing some exercise and so far so good-I've gone from a "getting to tight" 14 to a "oh that's quite loose" 12-I'm not brave enough to try trousers in a 10 yet thoughAm off to bokwa and metafit this morning

What's bowka?
You summed up my feelings for/about tea & lucy's losses too, mrsh, so thanks
Feel free to skip:
I'm fine thanksam 9 wks now so my 12wk scan is 3 wks on monday - looking forward to that, all being well. Starting to get the beginnings of a bump, which reassures me about my lack of puking (though I am often nauseous) and also gives me a little pat on the back for the weight I lost - I wouldn't've been able to feel it at my previous size
.
Eta: for what it's worth, I think I'd be tempted to have the op, if I were you Part Mouse. I would think it would make oving naturally or with medication much more likely and ttc less traumatic than it currently is for you. Just my thoughts"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Mrs h so pleased to hear you've done so well with the weight loss.
BZ lovely to read your doing so well to.im really unsure whats the best route next, I know I'm very bad with the pcos but a size 12 and never ov on my own.im unsure if after having the surgery and if no ov I would be able to then move onto injections and if they would be more successful.hmm.

Part Mouse - what a predicament. It's such a shame that your doctor doesn't seem very helpful.0

Part Mouse is it ovarian drilling they are suggesting? I had this done years ago when I wasn't ovulating even on clomid and it worked really well for me. It wasn't a difficult OP and they combined it with a laparoscopy to check that everything else was in order. I was also slim with no other obvious PCOS symptoms other than lack of ovulation and multiple cysts showing on ultrasound.0

I don't know any details but ovarian drilling + clomid worked for one of my SIL's. She had very severe PCOS and endo and had tried all mannor of things. She actually did it twice - 2006 and 2011 as part of a clinical trial with her local hospital.
Good luck with whatever you decide14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

If you have any questions about the procedure I can have a stab at answering them though mine was about 17 years ago now, back when it was a relatively new procedure!0 -
Becca fraid not, shes the only FS there
Nicki thanks for the offer. My only questios nreally are things I think only a FS can answer such as which is better for me, injections or surgery and in which order is better? and can I do both? I don't know how long I would have to wait for the surgery either
