    How are you doing?

    xx

I'm ok thanks. Dh's scan this morning showed nothing of any importance/problem. No hernias, nor lymph problems identified. :D Dh seems to now think he's been carrying his tension/stress in his lower back and groin area (??) so hopefully now he knows there's nothing to worry about he can relax!

Been out today for birthday treats, so today was a good day :)

On 12dpo atm, so we'll see how far this cycle gets... I definitely feel better off clomid than on it, but having a regular cycle lately also helps massively!

T2d, I've no real idea about male vits except zinc was mentioned at some point ;)

    to becca :)

How are our graduates doing?

BZ - sounds like good news from the scan :), really pleased to hear that.

I realise this is probably a "how long is a piece of string" question but can anyone share their experience of the cost of drugs for an icsi cycle please.

I have the price list from the hospital but it doesn't include the drugs. I know they can cost a LOT, but don't seem to be able to find any info. Am just looking for a rough ballpark figure at this stage - is it in the region of £1000, £2000 etc?

Tea - don't know if this will help as a guide. Obviously the price depends on the dosage they prescribe you and exactly what drugs they use as it differs from clinic to clinc. At our clinic the cost of the ivf drugs for our 1 treatment were about £1,200 - I received a tip about shopping around for the drugs and so I asked the clinic for the prescription and sourced them elsewhere for approx £800.

Tea, I think my drugs were about £800-900, although I only did the pre-embryo drugs so there would be more for the drugs you took after the embryo transfer.

In some good news for me, looks like I am going to re-start fertility treatment soon. We are going to look to do another ICSI cycle in August, and the doctor has recommended a trial run embryo transfer in June/July to ensure the scarring from my surgery isn't too bad. If it is it just means the ET would be done under general anaesthetic, but that's fine, and it's good to know now rather than during the cycle.

I'm quite pleased to be at least talking about TTC again! June feels very soon, and August will be on us before we know it. It's my birthday in August, so fingers crossed for a birthday IVF!

T2D - that all sounds very promising! June is very soon, it's next month!

Thanks for the info re. drugs, both of you. I appreciate the clinics can't give an exact cost as it varies so much but some sort of vague idea would be handy.

If we do another cycle it will be short protocol again. I ended up on 225 menopur and cetrotide (for 18 days in total). So would need those, and presumably ovitrelle. I've still got an enormous box of flipping cyclogest left! Will see if I can get some rough idea of prices from pharmacies - not sure if they'll do this though or if they just do proper quotes when you have a prescription.

Atm I feel desperately in need of a plan. I've spent so long planning towards ICSI that I'm finding it very difficult not to be doing something now... anything. My thinking for today (it varies each day) is plan to do another ICSI cycle in about 6 months time. Before that just cross my fingers and desperately hope for a natural miracle (and by natural I mean temping, ov sticks, vitamins, metformin....)

That gives us time to save up a bit more - we could technically afford it now but it wouldn't really leave us any back-up. Which obviously wouldn't be ideal if I then went on maternity leave. I can't bear the thought of not trying again at all. I'm 35 in jan and really want to try again before then.

Obviously at some point I'll need to convince OH about all of this. I'm not sure he's going to want to go through all of this again. Tbh I'm not sure I can face it all again, but I need to know that I've tried.
