I'm not sure if they are helping as my DH hasn't had a SA for a few years but hes taking wellman for reproductive health supporting conception. We get them from Amazon as there cheaper than the shops.

Back from holiday and caught up with the thread. I'm sending big hugs to everyone who's been having a dreadful time this past week :(

Afm, something of a rollercoaster. Two more BFPs from friends, including one accident from a 38 yr old pal who's just left her husband for her man on the side and 'accidentally' got pg a few months later. She's got 19yr old twins already! Another school friend's just had her second, all over Facebook. Oh, and that 1st birthday party was a proper mare. Sadder news though is that my best mate texted about an hour ago, she's lost her much wanted second baby at 12weeks, day before her first baby's 2nd birthday. Puts things in perspective for me a bit.

OH got his test results yesterday. Bloods ok apart from slightly raised cholesterol, and SA at the bottom end of normal apparently. I fear we might be heading for a diagnosis of unexplained infertility :( Need to collect my own results soon and hopefully get referred to FS.

Thank you all for being welcoming and a friendly place to share. Hugs to all,

    Floaty

tea - you should ask your ICSI people, they will be able to give you an idea of his results from the sample used for the ICSI. At least, they did when I asked. They didn't give it to me unprompted, but once I asked they did have the info to hand.

Thanks all for the info! I will research tomorrow - shouldn't really be posting this at work today!

T2D, we also use wellman vitamins from amazon, although boots and tesco are pretty good on 3 or 2s. We keep them on kitchen table for mealtimes. However it doesn't seem to have made much difference, count is up from 17 to 24 but motility worse (14% zero up to 75% zero; 20% good to 0% good). Also he's cut out alcohol, fizzy drinks and no longer has computer on his lap x

Teamlowe, I understand your feelings, I'm pretty much in that state of mind too. I feel the need to reclaim my life, make sure I'm not living for & around what if's. I have no idea right now if we'll even go through with nhs ivf, but I have little faith in it working. I have a small pot set aside for when it doesn't work, but not mitch faith of that happening either. I'm probably putting most eggs in the fostering 'basket' atm (and there's no guarantees in that either). Although, it doesn't stop me occasionally bargaining/begging/pleading with God to please just let this be the one...

Do you have a 'backup plan', for if it doesn't for you? :o Sometimes they can offer a little comfort

To be honest my back up plan is really my age. I know I don't have to make any huge decisions purely because of the biological clock, if you get me.
We've just managed to get the minimum we need together for a house deposit so it's nice to have a huge commitment to think about and throw ourselves into projects, you know?
I want to go through all possible/realistic options for having a child so then I have no regrets

    Hi Ladies,

Looking for a bit of advice. Has anyone managed to get their partner to take vitamin/supplements to improve SA? And any that seemed to help?

I have managed to get an agreement from DH that he will start to take some supplements (ie, probably 1) a day as we are now 4 months away from being allowed to start to try again. His count and motility are low, so help on either or both would be great.

Has anyone used them, and any advice on which to go for?

(Duplicate from other thread - probably more help here!)

My OH specialist recommended that he take Vit C, E, Zinc and a multi-vit (if he wanted). He said that C, E and Zinc are the vits the most important for healthy sperm production. He mentioned something about free radicals and stuff- tbh I was a bit out of it though.

He also now wears loose boxers and doesn't cook the boys with the laptop... We're going to ask for a repeat SA when I go back to the FS in the middle of May so we'll hopefully see if two months of them help.
