BZ - sounds like good news from the scan :), really pleased to hear that.

I realise this is probably a "how long is a piece of string" question but can anyone share their experience of the cost of drugs for an icsi cycle please.

I have the price list from the hospital but it doesn't include the drugs. I know they can cost a LOT, but don't seem to be able to find any info. Am just looking for a rough ballpark figure at this stage - is it in the region of £1000, £2000 etc?

Probably closer to a grand, tea. It really depends on your own hormones. The expensive one is the stimulation drug, e.g. Gonal F. The amount you need depends on how you respond and can vary enormously between women.

  • Jeepers. Seeing all this has made me realise how real this is about to become. I still don't know if I want this but I dread the idea that I may regret not going through with IVF in the future.

I finished the Tamoxafin 3 days ago, before that Iv'e had prolonged bleeding and feel quite crampy tonight. I wonder if it could be my body gearing up for ov or wether af is coming again?

I feel the same way... It's such a hard decision to know whether I'm going to be strong enough to go through the stressful process of IVF but I dont want to regret it if I havent done it.

In a way I'm almost glad that I've still got quite a bit of weight to lose as it's giving me the time I need to get my head round it all.

I'm wondering if this is why I've stalled over these last 3 lbs

    Hello all,

Good to hear about your OH BZ x

Well I have to stop taking clomid. A couple of weeks ago I noticed my eyes seemed a bit blurry and thought to myself 'better get an eye test, I'm getting on a bit'. Then last night some fairy lights made me see streaks of light. So this morning discovered that vision problems are a side effect of clomid, and you have to get medical attention if you experience it.

Rang clinic and when i (finally) got through they advised me to stop taking clomid straight away.

Now waiting for nurse to ring me back to tell me if I need to go in earlier than my next scheduled appointment (July).

Bit gutted as now I feel we aren't giving things our best shot. And its only slightly blurry vision, and only sometimes. Think I might sneak my remaining clomid pill tomorrow morning so at least I've done 2 months of it.
