Onestep please keep us updated with the adoption process, it would be great to hear how it actually works and good luck! Just think, your child/ren could be out there somewhere already, just waiting for you to be matched and give them a wonderful home. How magical x x
Remind me of that 'friends' line.... "if we listen carefully, we might hear the condom splitting"0 -
Tea - Just wanted to say I can totally sympathise with your anxiety. From my own experienes, tests not getting darker/getting lighter meant it was bad news. I freaked out massively when a digi I did only came back at 2-3 when, based on how my HCG levels had been increasing, it should have been 3+ and well above 2000. The scan I had a couple of days after that showed nothing and my HCG levels had started to drop.
Having said all that, the actual tests you take make a massive differene. Stick to the same brand. I've got 10mIU/ml ones barely showing a line but 50mIU/ml with a very distinct line.
You're right though, nothing either of us can do. I will keep my fingers firmly crossed for you.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Hi all,
Still here rooting for you tea.
Not much happening here. Seems since HSG am having a delayed Ov. cd 18 and a slight sign of maybe EWCM. Had the odd month last year where I was later Ov. Been Ov on cd 12/13 for last 6 months. Oh well, just have to wait and see. OH had op last week, so BDing is off this month. I like to keep track any way.
Called about when appointment will be, no news yet. Hopefully get a date next week for may time (lead Dr, been away). Just want to know results, when, what and next.
Want to get on and book a hol
OH has been ref to urology and has appointment next month.
All go here with us both beening prodded and poked. Not that we have been to Dr's and hospitals hardly ever in adult life.
Many Grats again Lilymay, sticky vibes to you.
Have a good day all0 -
I've been thinking it's Wednesday all day and have just discovered it's only Tuesday - gutted! A day is a really long time when you're counting the minutes to a 7wk scan. Plus Wednesday's my last working day this week, I thought I was done for the week but have another day at work. Am so disappointed lol.
On the plus side that means it's the final of the Great British Sewing Bee this evening0 -

Ooo yes! Thanks, I'd forgotten about that. My fingers are still crossed for you.
Thanks everyone for the positive messages. If you don't mind I'll keep posting here, even though we're not really ttc'ing anymore. Not really sure where on MSE to post about the adoption process. It's a pretty MSE friendly process though - the only thing we have to pay for is a full medical :P like we haven't been poked & prodded enough!
The weather here has been beautiful today; hope it's been as lovely wherever you all are xWhen people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
IMHO adoption is still TTC. If I have to go to surrogacy or adoption I'm staying here! I think we all would love to know the process. I find the idea terrifying and would love to know how it goes for you.
So please stay!0 -
Just got back from our appointment. Clomid is a no go for us as the sperm results make the specialist feel it would just be a stressful waste of our time. Our IVF open evening is 7th May and he thinks they'll give us a treatment start date then.
OH has completely shut down. He's gutted. I'm so upset that this has hit him like this. I know he's picking himself to pieces but he just won't talk about it. I'm going to go speak to the MIL (first time I've ever called her that!) I think to see if she can get him talking.
FS also gave us pre IVF advice so thought I'd post it in case it's useful for anyone else. No heavy exercise (he told me not to start couch to 5k as some evidence shows that strenuous exercise can put your body into 'protective mode' with is hostile to conception, swimming/ yoga/ pilates is OK), folic acid and multi-vits for me. Multi-vits and Vit C, E and Zinc for OH. Loose boxers (he hates that...). Reduce caffeine and alcohol as much as possible and both eat a healthy diet. He also told us to try and find a way to reduce the stress that we're feeling- easier said than done pal!
I think some of the stress noise has gone from my head... not a lot as OH is freaking me out but I think knowing for certain the route that needs to be taken and knowing that physically I should be able to carry a pregnancy (even with slightly higher miscarriage/ caesarian/ early labour stats) has reassured me a little. Thanks to everyone here for your encouragement over the past months- I don't know what I'd have done without you all. :T0 -
no change here. No pain, no bleeding, a few sort of little twinges but I think that's usual (especially with endo, there's always something going on in there!). Certainly nothing that would worry me if I hadn't done those stupid tests.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Thanks for the info; maybe I should not have started that heavy exercise regime last month after all.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
