Could you try taking more of a health angle when you do your review eg. less takeaways and less drinking would both help get you DF and MF quicker and then he could choose to work less which would also reduce the stress (unless of course he's one of those people who thrives on it!). But do agree you both have to do the review and see the full picture. Hope stressiness with son is lessening. xMortgage OP 2025 £6200/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

That cognitive shift is so, so tough - for ourselves, let alone helping other people that we love to do it. Lots of hugs, El, I hope the two of you are able to talk things through soon. There's something about planning treats too.... healthy ones, comparatively.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well I have warmed hubby up for the chat so to speak ... Spoke to him tonight dropped hints and let him get an idea of where I will be going with the discussion ... As I am night shift all I am really capable of is work sleeping and eating just now so discussions would be a waste of time ... However I am off tomorrow so it will be then .... We will get a charge this month for going over the overdraft and I will be showing him exactly how much the Chinese has cost ... I would love to think that talking about the health benefits would work ... But I am unaware of any alcoholic that realistically will accept their health is suffering until the suffering becomes apparent ... My understanding is playing ostrich is something any addict addicted to anything ( including chocolate) ( my current addiction) is good at .
Tonight I had a totally stunning/ shocking/ apalling experiance... I had to go to the spar for milk for work ... There was a young lad in front of me buying drink he was being id ed the girl behind the desk said to him " hey you know what we have this new facility that saves you being asked for I'd everytime you come in would you like to sign up" the young lad said sure ... She then went onto say " we just need your finger prints " I was stunned finger prints to buy alcohol ... George Orwell wouldve been spinning in his grave And going " told you so" ... I said to the young lad if you give then your finger prints you are soooo going to regret it ... I don't think the enormity of it struck him ... Phoned a friend about it and a whole social discussion ensued ( as I'm sure you can imagine lol)0 -
I'm stunned - didn't know they could do such a thing El (the fingerprints)... actually they probably can't down here as we are usually miles behind.
Didn't realise hubby was so dependant on alcohol - sorry:o!

Well last night shift done ... Figures tweaked as best as I can get them ... Reasons for achieving goals written down ( hopefully to be added to) determined head on ...
Have two shifts of overtime to do this week as well so that will help highlight my wants ( ie: I would rather be doing this overtime to pay for a trip to London than for half a dozen Chinese meals that dint taste as good as yours )0 -

Revelation 13:16-1816He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,
17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Only you Z, i wish i had thought of that one.:rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
