did my first night shift in ages last night ...i am shattered...it takes so much out of a person ...

scratchies done 10p pads done so all in all getting there slowly ...i have noticed that since we came back from Poland we have been having far too many takeaways and i am lifting far too much out of the bank that i dont have so i am going to bring back in the spending diary ...i hadnt bothered since we came back from poland but there is deff a need to keep on top of it ...if hubby wants a lawnmower and i want debt free then its what we have to do ...

Have spent a few hours tonight making goals reviewing my current situation looking at the demotivator tool and planning ... I think an indepth discussion with hubby is going to have to happen soon ... We were doing a monthly mini review up until this month ... This time I did it to try and take the pressure off of hubby with son ... I thnk that was a mistake and will be rectified either today or next week ... But very soon... Will write down my conclusions when I have better Internet access than a phone

It needs to be done, El - and it is such a positive and productive thing, really, I feel. OK, so after hours of scribbling numbers etc you are STILL in debt, but the difference is (for me, anyway) that you see the whole picture again - you can see WHY you are doing those 10p scratches, and you feel more in control again. The mini-financial-discussion thing sounds as though it is quite vital so it is something that, no matter what else is going on in life, would be worth continuing with - no excuses from either party!

I hope you have a good day x

Yeah hypno you are totally right ... I had written a whole rant/ moan yesterday about it all then deleted it as it was really suitable for a public forum .... But even Reading it before I deleted it made me start to think again ... We ( hubby and I)seem to be distracted to easily... Taking the eye off the ball so to speak ... I was well intentioned with my idea not to discuss money with hubby this month as he doesn't do stress at all ( has been drinking nearly every night since son situation started) but it seems that he must subconciously think that because I don't discuss things then either everything has miraculously changed or the ostrich position looks good .... I also don't want to keep living like this ... I want those 10ps to be ours to have fun with ... I want the overtime to be for treats not to pay never ending debts .... I think also yes I know I need to make more of an effort but I think hubby needs to have a cognative shift... He talks about wanting savings wanting no mortgage wanting holidays and experiances but thinks it is either his birthright or he works hard ( and he does) so deserves to have four takeaways a week or it will never happen so live for today tomorrow he might be dead ... I think he is the last when we discuss his drinking etc this is one of the reasons he gives .... But I can't do it alone ....
