Hope your MIL recovers soon
A lot of our original debt came from food - esp takeaways... Last night I fancied a takeaway - so I made chicken fried rice and bought a large bag of chips for about £1.50 and divided it between 4. Felt like we'd had a treat for a fraction of the price!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

hey taxi yeah i am ok ...just so caught up with things my side ...mil isnt getting any better she is having regular transfusions and anti biotics now to see if it helps but so far not working ...having to go visiting twice a day is taking it's toll on fil so hubby and i are trying to ease the burden there as much as we can so we have been running up and down to hospital i have started back uni and have been night shift ...hectic ...
spending wise ...we have over spent ...it is to be expected at this time ...maily on diesel and petrol (hubby has borrowed fils car for when i am night shift so that he can visit) the hospital is over 40 mins drive each way away...and i have had to use the car to go to uni 1.5 hours drive away (due to no money) and the odd (one so far) chippy dinner ...we have no food in the house as we havnt had time to go shopping and hubby has had to use money for work ...next week he has taken a week off of work to try and get on top of things as he is starting to feel the strain just now as well ...but i have been keeping on top of it as best as i can..
have got a £10 payout from bingo and finally got a cheque for nearly £70 for work i did a long time ago ...have had the cheque now since friday of last week but have not had a minute to go out it in the bank yet ..i plan on doing that tomorrow when i go into the main campus at uni ...son phoned he is intending on giving us half the money he borrowed in the middle of the month and the rest at the end ...he is trying his best as well to help out
i sat and figured out that if i make a £18.78 a day over payment to my mortgage i will be mortgage free in five years so as soon as i am debt free (and this had better happen soonish) that is going to be my next goal ...it works out at £70 a month over the £500 a month i am allowed to pay off but i will put that into a seperate account to pay it off when the time comes ...so yes i am still thinking finances they just arnt going as well as i would like ...but they are going as well as can be expected given the circumstances
sorry i havnt been around much will try and get back on the wagon as soon as i can ...hope you are all well0
