hi el - Thanks for thinking of me. I will be okay this is just such a shock! A lot worse things could have happened tho... 5 weeks money for 5 days work is not bad going LOL!

I still struggle with the rescuer thing

Some friends of mine are having major car trouble, month after month after month - I have to fight with myself not to offer to help as we can't afford it either. Rescuing is ingrained in me.... I have to work really hard not to do it as it can also be patronising to the other person and devalue them. Obviously there are times when it is right and proper that we help - I just need to make sure that I keep things in balance....

yes i think the balance is where all people like us will have that issue and whilst i hope i will always have the balance right i dont know if i will manage it ...i discussed my situation with a person last night and they asked me questions i hadnt thought about ...whilst it didnt make up my mind for me (other factors did) it certainly helped me understand my situation better and it certainly helped me look outside the box and objectively.... i think because this time it was my son i was possibly too close to it to see some of the things that became glaringly obvious after the questions were asked and i thought about them... maybe try that ...

four very good questions taken from N.L.P that are good to think of when these situations arise and one i will be adopting in future are

    1) what will happen if i do this
    2) what wont happen if i do this
    3) what will happen if i dont do this
    4) what wont happen if i dont do this

i think they are good questions to ask yourself if you are having these issues

The next stage is due to take place around the start of sept - the relevant managers are on holiday currently so would have to wait for their return.... I would hope that this will be the final stage and therefore that I should get a decision quite quickly. I am the only person still in the running at the moment....
