Nothing wrong with ebay cheapy tests, they might not show up as strong a line as one of the more expensive ones but a positive is a positive!
Congratulations Mrs Tradition and Yorkygal, here's to 2 sticky beans!:T:T:T

Courgette - glad you made your decision about the pill, sounds like it was the right decision for you.

Maddie, I'm now on my 2nd month of temping, it is fun isn't it? I hope I won't get bored of having to test as soon as I wake up!

  • It seems very convenient that new posters join & within days announce their BFP.

Maybe they should consider the feelings of other posters who have been on here for some time.

    Well said Natalie! :T
Smartie I think the old TTc'ers have been put somewhat put off by newbies coming and posting BFP's in a "TRYING TO CONCEIVE" thread. Whilst we are happy to support anyone new coming onto the thread, asking questions about reliability of a pregnancy test is not about trying to conceive. May I suggest these posts may be better answered on the pregnancy thread where there are actually pregnant women who therefore have experience of pregnancy tests rather than those still TRYING to conceive who therefore would not be able to tell you whether they're reliable or not. I find the whole thing of people doing this deeply insensitive and distatsteful.
I know some women have had positive tests on here and have then been unfortunate in having miscarried. Do you think it's fair either that they should be asked these questions? Does it not just smack of rubbing salt in the wound?
  • Agreed becs, I think the pg thread is a better place for those sorts of questions. Not only for the ladies who have had mcs but as some people (myself included) have yet even to see a positive on a stick once.

I am pleased for you ladies that have your BFPs but please think on as to the real intention of this thread and the content of your posts. TTC is a long hard rocky road and some of these ladies have been travelling for too long. Newbies turning up one month then declaring a BFP the next, can be akin to a smack in the face at times.

Smartie - we do need to get some more BFPs for the "oldies" (and I don't include myself in that yet, I still very much feel a newbie!:o) and it would be nice for them to feel they could use this thread for its proper purpose. I know lots of people lurk and don't post and I've been wondering where a few familiar names have gone. If you're lurking say hi ;)

Lets get this back on track shall we? confuzzled - can we have an updated list please? :D

    Hi!! :D

I know what you guys mean but at the same time I know of people who don't feel comfortable going to the preg thread without hitting the magical 3 mths mark. I don't know. I'm trying to play devils advocate I guess.

Who am I to talk though...I know nothing! I'm pleased that people are sounding a bit happier than they were last month. I'm still getting to grips with putting ttc on hold. But I'm sure it will all be worth it...she said!

Agree Bitzer new posters one month then BFP the next is already hard enough but Yorkygal's first post on this thread was the question about the BFP! Mrs_Traidition posted first time the day af was due but didn't turn up then a week later with BFP! Hardly Trying to conceive questions and support. This really was and still can be a wonderful thread for everyone who is trying to conceive to look to for support and advice. It can not be however a thread for new posters to come and "brag" about bfp's all be it done in what they may be consider to be a subtle way. The name of the thread is concise and clear it's about "trying" and we welcome anyone with open arms who is just starting out on the journey, but please if you've already suceeded and are beyond the trying stage, please consider the feelings of the majority on this thread and post on the more appropriate pregnancy thread.
    Thank you.
