Trying For a Baby III

Thanks for the advice becs - can't you buy 'normal' thermometers that are sensitive enough to also use for TTC? I keep telling myself I need to get into good sleep patterns and get up early at weekends anyway - so could be an incentive? At the moment I end up not having time to do anything at the weekend cos I get up too late grrr!Proud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0

well my plan is since we're going on holiday in Sept to NYC, and my dream is to be able to give DH a present at the top of the statue of liberty (we've got our tickets to go up to the top).
I've bought a little baby grow that says "feed me", and im going to wrap it up and give it to DH at the top of the statue, let him open it and wait for it to drop!!!
Then get some unsuspecting tourist to take some photos of us together with the baby grow over my belly, makes these into cards and send these out to the family when we're 3 months....
Am positive I wont be telling anyone other than DH till after the 3 month mark after losing our 1st and not finding out till the 3 month scan....
But this time round im really positive but it only gives me 7 weeks to make a bean for my plan to work LOLWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hello everyone
Gosh Ive only been gone two days and I had to use two pages in word to compose this post. Im on CD12 and just did THE daftest (is that even a word) thing this morning. DF had to go to work so he asked if he could wake me up to wee before he went coz he wanted to see how the cbfm worked. So yesterday I wasn’t feeling well (DS being sick this week has worn me out) and then DS’ godparents came to visit-but they got here early and just stayed...all....day. When they left at about 22H00 DF was saying he wanted nookie and I figured it was a good idea as it would have been “just for him” and I can remind him when he says “now you want me” round ov....I digress...so I got up and peed in my pot(then finished my wee), and then I thought I’d get rid of the wee before he came in the bathroom (trying to be gentle with him you see) so I dipped my stick, emptied the cup in the loo and then dumped it in the sink...then I realised...I HAD NOT DIPPED MY STICK. Thankfully there was enough drips left in the bottom of the pot to wet the stick and cbfm said I still only have two bars...he says I still need to charge my batteries more and thinks if we bd more cbfm will give me more bars
Emmzy You sound like you’re having a wonderful time. My dad has been nagging DF that its time for another grandchild so I think he would be worried about getting legs broken if he were caught snoozing.
Elliebobs I was also at boarding school (in South Africa) and we were all synchronised too. It was a nightmare when AF arrived. Drama galore. I remember being made hostel head girl in matric and was left in charge of the standard 6’s (which is the first year of high school). I don’t know how I got through my final exams with all the little cat fights I was sorting out instead of studying.
nichart20 how long have you been taking clomid for? I’m on cd 12 and took my first dose this month. My ovaries have been achey too and today I feel like Im full of pre periods. My cbfm still only has two bars though.
EA So nice to see you...nearly over “the bump”, how exciting.
Kelinik that is fab news. But I want to shake my finger at you anyway. I lurked yesterday as I wasn’t feeling well and just had to see if confuzzled got her bfp, so I came on and readOh smartie, nunnygirl and confuzzled I can't believe af got all of you!!
Becs Please fill me in on the magpies . I’m assuming its like how back home we are extra careful not to step on a shongololo if he seems far from home in case it rains on him. Having said that, Ive helped tag lions, stepped over warthogs to go for a wee and had a baboon hold my face in his hands...but I don’t think I’d know a magpie if I saw one.
Cafcgirl I’m jealous. I’m slightly overweight and have been struggling to lose it for ages. My trouble is I don’t eat regularly. I’m spending today doing some planning because I want to try to fix this over the next few weeks. I get a lot of exercise as we don’t have a car and I try to avoid the bus if I can. The scary thing is if I were still in South Africa I would still lead a VERY sedentary lifesyyle because of the car and my eating now is not much different so I shudder to think how I would have ballooned if I had not been in the UK for the last two years. But you’re right about the empty calories.
I love your idea for telling your oh. Maybe we can share an exercise re how we would tell as another way to get through the 2ww.
Confuzzled I'm also sorry af got you, and it was me that posted that about the angels...given me strength when I needed it. I hope it was a hopeful cry you had.
Snugglepants when I had DS I had just started a new job...in fact I was doing my second week solo out of training when I got pg. I was still temping so told my boss as soon as I realised. I assumed that they would not want to renew my contract and decided I would be better off taking off immediately and getting myself sorted out (esp as his dad ran as fast as...). She congratulated me and said she’d chat to me when she had more time. Later that day she called me in and “threw the book at me”-it was a permanent contract and an application for fully comprehensive medical aid. Since we didn’t have government funded healthcare I knew I was going to have to pay to deliver him anyway. But I was making peace with a R17000.00 public hospital bill. She knew this would be impossible for me financially (since I was only earning R5000.00) and physically and had the company pay my exclusion cover so that I would be able to have him delivered by c section in a private hospital and the medical aid would foot the R47000.00 bill at the end. Granted I couldn’t afford to pay rent and had to move back to my folks and drive 2 hours into work to cover the medical aid premiums...but DS was delivered safely and my boss was the first one to visit after my family left. Point is, people surprise you...cross that bridge when you come to it. You want to get pregnant...not call them and ask that they post bail for you
I have a chicken carcass from yesterday in making stock (first time ever) and I noticed some blackberries down the path behind our house so I'm thinking of going berry picking (also a first ever for me). I just want to find out first if they'll freeze okay for a few days or else I'll go see if they are still there in the week as I have an actual to do list today...and its all admin type stuff.
Hope everyone is having a fab week end

Hey Polka,
Im definitely up for sharing some wild ideas during the 2ww.... Ive just got to get there now..... I feel like im twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to be closer to Ov LOLWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi polka im on my 5th cycle with it, I used clear blue monitor but stopped using it as it can give false information and never went over 2 bars for me but I did ovulate as blood test confirmed, I think the side effects get worse each cycle0

I've just been looking at the cbfm...I kinda want one as it would mean I'm being proactive. But I have only just started trying as opposed to not not trying like before. So I'm trying to hold back and do it on my own...December seems like a long time to wait!
I'm all consumed by ttc today...I need a distraction.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%

cafcgirl I'm feeling the same at the moment. I usually ov around cd16-18 but last month was cd13...never mind the 2ww...the waiting in any phase is just agony. And now reading what nichart20 says about the cbfm I'm worried. This is my first month on both. I charted for a while but struggled with that too as my hours were erratic-maybe I should think about going back to it. I only have this month and then DS starts nursery so I need to get my mornings more stable again (dust off the flylady rulebook
)so maybe an incentive (who said that earlier?). All that taken into account, its normally the ewcm that tells me when its due...and again I ov'd on the left last month so it "should" be the right this month, which hasn't been ov'ing for a few months,so unless the clomid does its job this month I might not even ov.

Maddie I'm so with you on the waste of a weekend! We meant to get up earlyish today and get loads done but DH had lads night last night and had lots to drink (thanks for thinking about the TTC!) and didn't come to bed until 2.00am so we got up at 10. He then did his usual morning after full cooked brekkie whilst I had my boiled eggs with soldiers (Thanks for reminding me what i was missing the other day Smartie, they were yummy!) and by the time his friend left us it was mid day! So we've done a teeny bit of painting but not as much as we'd hoped.
CAFC that sounds a fab idea! I love the idea of using the pics to do a postcard thing to people to tell them too, very sweet. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Polka what a loooong post! firstly yes you can freeze blackberries fine if you're using them for cooking, they go a bit mushy if you wanted them just as fruit on their own otherwise. I make hedgerow jam with them (blackberry, blueberry, apple, orange and cinnamon) which is yummy or of course blackberry and apple crumble! Magpies are the black and white birds about the size of a crow, very striking. They're supposed to have lifetime mates so if you see a single one it's considered bad luck and you're supposed to salute him saying "Hello Mr Magpie, how is your lovely wife today?". They seem to be more common around town or cities I think. We live in a village and I've never seen any here but when we go into Peterborough there are loads! There's a rhyme that says "1 for sorrow, 2 for joy, 3 for a girl and 4 for a boy" I don't know the rest of it. It's totally irrational and completely stupid because I've seen loads of groups of 3 or 4 and have yet to fall pg so why I worry about seeing them on their own when I do is crazy! Forgot to say thought the bit about CBFM is funny! Just the sort of thing my DH would say! He get's more excited than I do waiting to see what it says in the morning! It's like Christmas!0 -

I'm so in need of a distraction I'm doing admin-on a Sunday  Are you registered on freecycle? I was given my cbfm by one of the mums at playgroup. A group of us were talking about ttc and I told them about my m/c and how gutted I was. She said she was done with hers and had posted it on freecycle that morning...hoping to give it to someone who was as desperate as she was to have a baby.
ETA: Becs 1 for sorrow, 2 for joy 3 for a girl and 4 for a boy 5 for silver 6 for gold and any more is a flock of birds before my eyes when will my surprise arrive? My mum used to say that when I was very little and I always wondered where it came from. Of course being in SA she would do it for any birds and sometimes changed it to 5 for a kiss and 6 for a wish.So I've probably seen loads and not realised (being that I live in London). I think I'll have to go and look them up. Thanks for the info about the blackberries-haven't got around to it yet so I guess it'll be tomorrow afterall.0 -
Hi girls
Sorry I haven't been around much this month - my stupidly long cycles were starting to seriously get me down so I was trying to avoid the thread a wee bit (although I have to confess to avid reading!)
Anyway.......I only have a 10 day LP so AF was due on Friday, no show, but bfn on thurs so figured cycle wonky! Still nothing today so used an ebay 10miu cheapie this morning and saw the faintest of faint line after about 15 mins which OH couldn't see! did another at lunch time and more visible line, but OH still refusing to get excitedcos it was really really light..
Went off too boots to get a Clear Blue digital to use in a few days, figuring it was less sensitive than the cheapie so wouldn't show. Anyway, I'm weak and used it anyway....
BFP!!!
Sitting here staring at it in shock!!0
