I sat in front of a mirror on a towel with legs spread (not a pretty sight) and could just about see if I lifted my bump out of the way. I struggle to look down as I wear glasses so end up looking at it blind as a bat otherwise!
I did nick myself with the foils but fortunately not on any sensitive bits!
NMs - yep mine was like the afro chainsaw scene too :rotfl:
Ness - sorry your holiday wasn't as relaxing as planned. My OH gets bored easily so can imagine he would be the same!
With you working in NHS, if you weren't on mat leave do you think you would still be working with all this swine flu?always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T0 -
Hi Skinty and SS, Thanks for the EC discussion - had no idea what it was before so going to look into it now. I'm already sold on giving co-sleeping and breastfeeding a try but can anyone recommend a good book for general attachment parenting covering anything I might have missed?

i have got The Attachment Parenting Book by William and Martha Sears. Not read it yet but it's the one that seems to be recommended.

The reviews are really good. I got mine on eBay though.
Oh, and I just read on Netmums about a lady who is also having BH and cramping and apparently it is labour!! So I think I'm in early labour!! :j My doula has also emailed in response ot my update email of last night, and said 'glad things are starting' so I guess baby really might be on the way!

Afternoon ladies and bumps.
Been catching up this morning whilst at work. Don't feel like doing much actual work today so this has been nice! Especially as I felt really sick this morning again. MS had worn off mainly over the last few days but felt rough todya - prob due to tiredness though. OH kept waking me up in the night, firstly coming to bed, then cos he stole all the duvet, then with his elbow in my face
So I've noticed I've got quite a few spots now which I'm attributing to the pg, but weirdly I've suddenly got quite a few in my armpits  Never had them there before and I'm not very happy with thatHmmmph.
ETA: Great news Skinty!! Here's hoping for a quick and trouble free labour for you0 -

Men have a special housework blindness I think.
I know what you mean. There was an element of whinging this morning because when I made today's list I had 8 things on mine and he had 5 on his - plus a day's work. I pointed out that one of his things was just "arrange a time a friend of his is coming over" and two more were "go to the bar and talk to the guy who hangs paintings, and talk to the seamstress next door while you're there", whereas mine were more labour-intensive things to do with cleaning and such, plus I'd be doing stuff that wasn't on the list as well, but he still grumbled and insisted one thing be moved to a different day's list.
It must be hard for them as well - they see us uncomfortable and tired and swelling but there's nothing they can do about it, and they know the labour's going to be even worse, and unless they happen to be anaesthetists they just have to stand by while we're in pain. That's a lot of what's worrying Husband, that and the stress of not being ready for the baby's arrival. And they don't have the same support network really - lots of jokes about sleepless nights and pregnant sex, but no one really sits down and says, You must be worried, do you want to talk about it?
Edit: Oh my goodness, Skinty, early labour!! Good luck!!Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Ooh good luck Skinty.
Me and OH had a good weekend camping - it was a bit rainy but it was nice just being away the two of us. But it is finally sinking in that we are going to lose our two-ness when bump arrives and I was getting a bit tearful. I know it will be good when bump arrives but I want it to be as normal as possible between us up till that point but it is just not going to happen!
As part of our weekend away we went to a nappy lady demonstration in Surrey (it happened to coincide with our weekend break which was convenient) and I have to say I was really pleased we went. OH now has a better idea of nappies (not having had to deal with them at all before) and you get to feel them and understand the different components. I am feeling confident now about using reusables. If anyone is going for reusables for the first time I would definitely visit the nappy lady website and if possible go to see a demonstration (although they are on youtube now as well).Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)
Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early)0 -
I don't have a middle name either, but I always felt left out! My brother had one as my parents couldn't agree so mum chose his first name and dad chose his middle name.
As a kid I used to pretend I had a middle name - it was Mary for a while and then Katie!!!
Right, going to go and have breakfast somewhere. Anyone suggst anywhere in York that does a nice breakfast?
Catch you all later (we have paid £10 for 24 hours internet access so will definitely be back on tonight to get money's worth!). x
Probably too late but we had a lovely fried breakfast in York on Saturday, it was a cafe near the market, can't remember name, think it was kind of italian sounding, but as it's 1pm anyway I imagine you've already found somewhere.love my little man he is amazing :j0 -

Hiding seems to be doing the trick! Getting more work done and less exposure! Just need to remember to wash hands after going anywhere!Sarah_Joanne wrote: »Afternoon ladies and bumps.
