    Morning ladies
Hope everyone is ok, just booked a week off starting the 10th of Aug have a scan that day so hopefully spen the rest of the week shooping for stuff. Just having a wispa chocolate (So glad they brought them back out) Feeling quite light headed today so thought some chocolate would help. Well thats my excuse anyway, but having to hide it as eating a wispa on reception in a dental surgery is not a good look.
Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j

Morning ladies, Re names, so far we've decided on the middle name Alexander and agreed to wait until he's born to give him a 1st name, purely because we can't think of 1! Hoping he looks like a 'something' when he pops out :rotfl:
Am stuck in today until River Island deliver my sale stuff, but using that as an excuse to stay in my jammies.
Picking up my pram tomorrow, am so excited can't wait to play with it, its this one here

Good choice csh!!! ;) I have the same one, only in "vintage" colour and my chassis is different. I got the big wheels with metal basket. - the "Classic Sleepover" It did me for DD and amusing it for new bubba too. Brilliant pram!! I LOVE IT. I got mine down from attic yesterday and give it a cleanup, and i so cant wait to use it again.
Did you get the rocker crib stand with it??

That's my pram too! :T I thought i was the only person with one. I have it in Vintage but after trying both chassis we went with the linear because of the spinning wheels at the front. I couldn;t get the classic round corners although I really did want that chassis because of the suspension and the way it looks.

It comes with the rocking stand and stuff and we love ours so much! I can;t wait to be using it in, ooh, a week or so!!!! :j

I haven't a clue how you ladies manage foof pruning when you're 30wks+...I'm only at 17 and I can barely see to do anything down there!! Will need to buy a trimmer of some sort eventually, as I think using a razor once big bump comes could be very dangerous, lol :p

I've been doing mine regularly all the way through. I use my hand to feel where I want to shave, then protect the rest with one hand while I use the razor with the other. I then trim the length of what's left with scissors, which is more tricky but if I sit on the loo I can just about manage by peering rouond the sides! It's not as neat as it would be if I weren;t pregnant, but I'm not aiming for perfection, just tidiness and hygiene really.

I usually shave my undercarriage as well but have found that very itchy so I'm just doing the triangle at the moment and once baby is born (any day now!) then I can sort it out properly.

Thanks Skinty, for the moment I'm interested in recommended internet resources - there's so much stuff out there and I don't want to go wrong.

I'm sorry you're a bit upset - I think it's difficult for them to understand just how much needs to be done, especially since they lack the nesting urges and don't get the sheer importance of it all.

Why are people so interested in the actual due date? And how is it their business?!

He had a chat with a friend (father of three with fourth on the way) yesterday morning and I think that helped. Our friend knew we are having some issues along these lines and it did seem to galvanise him into action. He even hugged me and touched the bump and I can;t remember the last time he actually touched me! I know that's really sad. :o

OK, EC. I will just post all the links I've got then. There is a Yahoo group as well. I started pulling info off all these sites and sticking it into a word doc so I had the stuff I'd need in one place. I haven;t bought any of the books people mention because I don't think I'm mentally that committed to it. I might be later on but right at the beginning there will be enough to do without being strict on EC as well!

The links say you can do it with nappies as well, so I'm going to be slightly half-hearted about it and see what happens.

That's brilliant skinty, thank you so much! I'd be interested in keeping the nappies if possible - Husband isn't so thrilled with the idea of a nudey bum baby but is definitely pro early potty training. And it seems to me that EC is useful in giving a small baby a sense of identification with their body relatively early on - like finding their hands only a bit messier ;)

I'm glad your OH is doing a bit better with it. I feel really guilty thinking how unsympathetic I've been to pregnant women in the past because you just can't realise how debilitating it is till you're almost immobile!

We have bought washable nappies so I will definitely be using them, but at home it will be nice to have baby nappy-free and to start learning its cues and communications, and as you say, any identifying with their bodies can only be a good thing for them - they do know when they want to wee and poo, I believe, in the same way they know they are hungry, it's just about how they tell us, and how we then deal with it.

EC won;t be so great out and about IMO, as you then need the potty and it might be difficult to do it, but some of those links talk about doing it part-time, and that seems a good compromise to me.

I think OH is fed up of me being pregnant, and feels overworked both at home and at work, and that he does stuff when I don't, but of course I do my stuff in the day, and often it is stuff he doesn;t even realise needs doing!

Men have a special housework blindness I think.

I can;t believe that by my dates I am 40 weeks today! Only a couple more weeks to go maximum! :j I thought labour had started last night cos I was getting lots of BH and cramps, but it seems not.

Too scared to go out now though in case it comes, so Boots are kindly dropping my prescription in to me at lunchtime!
