got loads of socks like that... no shoes and seeing as it'll be cold when he starts moving into the pram from the carrycot bit, i'd like to make sure his extremities are kept warm...
i dont really like snowsuits/pramsuits... seem a lot of hassel to get in and out of...
so if some snuggly shoes, mittens on string and thick coats will work i'd rather go for that
and i have no plans for a skinny baby... i am imagining a rotund little ginger thing! cant wait to meet him!
my dogs stomache is making weird noises... if it were a human i'd be worried he's going to have a runny-poop accident... !:male:Alfie Sidney born 29th August 2009:male:0 -

Hello girls!
So far today i've pegged out teh baby clothes that weren;t drying well in the house as the weather has turned and it's windy and dry, then did a dark wash which is also now pegged out. The nappies which have been dyed, undyed and Milton-ed are now in the wash for hopefully the last time and will also get pegged out as baby clothes should be dry by then.
I still need to shower and wash my hair, then get to Boots to pick up my pethidine prescription which they had to order in for me, annoyingly.
i do still have the dusting, cleaning the bathroom, a hot wash, bed changing and washing of linen to do, and probably other small jobs as well, not to mention more batch cooking for the freezer, and OH is painting the garage door while it's not raining.
I'd hoped for a quiet weekend but there's still so much to do and baby is due soon! I also need to pack my labour bag and box so we are ready to go if it starts. Have been getting period-like pains today on and off so maybe...?
I have some questions:
1 - After I used Milton on the nappies and blankets, I've noticed the blankets are a yellowy colour - is this normal and will it wash out? The nappies thankfully are whiter than white again.
2 - I don;t have a cot top changer or a changing thing, just a mat. I was going to do it on the bed/floor - is this OK or do I need a changing unit?
3 - I haven;t bought any socks or scratch mitts. Are these essential in the first few days or can we do without them? I thought people might buy things like that so have held off.
4 - finally, can I use candles at home if I have gas and air as pain relief? I bought tea lights and am now not sure if I need to get fairy lights instead. I want some pretty twinkling lighting but I don;t want to blow the house up!
Thanks for any answers, labour vibes to Tink, hugs to nicki and anyone else who needs them.

Its personal choice really, i didn't have one for DD as I had no room but am having one this time round. (I prob won't use it but it came with the cot)
3 - I haven;t bought any socks or scratch mitts. Are these essential in the first few days or can we do without them? I thought people might buy things like that so have held off. Most newborn sleepsuits have fold over built in scratchmitts and most have feet. Again personal choice, I would say to buy some as you can never have too many (I have loads of socks as i have a thing for baby feet:rotfl:)
