  • Jenny- Thankyou . I know you're right and you too Xmas- Ive been up since 4 am with it going over in my head and I've decided to go in tomorrow and get it done and dusted. I'm now organising the 2 younger children and sorting out a going home outfit for the lil lady. Feeling excited now I've made my decision to go in and stay in - at least then i know shes coming by Saturday at the latest.

Re the Tesco basket - As I remember I got the voucher sent straightaway. Not the best basket , im sure you had to buy pampers with it too to get it free if i remember correctly but that might be me getting it wrong.

    Hello again ladies,

I posted last week because I have irregular cycles and wondered what your opinions were on talking to my GP about them and whether there is anything I can do to make them more regular. I made an appointment for a GP to call me this morning to talk about it - they didn't have any appointments for me to go in until the beginning of next week.

So the doctor called this morning and asked what I wanted to talk about. I said that it was going to be irregular periods, but yesterday I did a pregnancy test (ok, I did FOUR pregnancy tests, just to be sure!) and they were all positive!!! :jI told her this is my first pregnancy and have absolutely no idea what happens next)!!!

She asked the questions I was expecting - when was my last period (13th June), have I had any bleeding since then (tiny amount on 2nd August, but nothing like a period and only lasted a few hours), have I had any pain like period pains (on Monday this week had sharpish pain on left side near my groin which I thought could have been ovulation, but as I don't know length of cycles it could have been anything) and have I had any pain since (a few little 'twinges' on Tuesday, but could have imagined them they were so mild). Then the doctor said she thought I ought to pop into the surgery and found me a slot this afternoon. I asked if I needed to take anything and she said no, and double checked when I tested and asked if it was definitely a positive (I didn't tell her that I'd had four positives, and an extra one this morning, just to make sure)!!!

Now I'm a bit concerned and wondering why she wants to see me and I'm hoping everything's okay. Has anyone else had any experience of this sort of thing? It's my first pregnancy and have no idea really what happens as far as doctors appointments, midwives etc are concerned, it's all very new and very exciting!

Suzy - Hope all goes well tomorrow. You have been so patient.

Rang the doctors, no test results yet for the UTI and no prescription been done re Canestan pessary as requested by midwife yesterday afternoon.
I am now in pain, feel like i am bursting to go to the loo all of the time. And my back is now starting to hurt. As if its not uncomfortable enough being nearly 35 weeks pregnant. I am to ring back after 1pm. Think i will just leave work and go down there instead, may make more headway with them, by standing there and looking all fat and pathetic.

MrsMB try not to worry chick doctor will want to go over and record on your medical notes what you have told her and probably have a little feel around your tummy to make sure everything is in order, they will probably want you go for an early dating scan to so that they know exactly when you are due.

Also do you know why your periods have been irregular i know a friend of mine suffers with endametriosis (i think thats how its spelled) and has had to be monitored a lot more closely than normal during her pregnancy even though it has been text book :-)

  • WM- Thanks.

You cant have the pessary, you need the cream , there in the same pack anyway but dont use the pessary at your stage as it can break your waters. Like you said i think your best off going to them rather than phoning them back and say your in agony and cant go on with it.

Mrsmb - It just sounds like you have a good GP who wants to chat to you about the pregnancy and maybe try and work out how far along you are. I wouldnt worry about it. Im sure it will be fine.

    Hi ladies,

Xmas i posted the very same question about the Mr T basket a few threads ago and got no replies. I cannot find any info on how you get it and have certainly not had the voucher through. I have had one from Mr S though had to buy nappies for that one.

We had a 3D scan on monday and despite not wanting to know the sex our little BOY wanted to show us what he has, (i am sure he grabbed it at some point!!) could some one give me a blue squiggle next thime the list is updated? It was a fantastic experience, and def worth it IMO.

Now, my DH and i have been having the whole who will be present/bring us home/be at home when baby is born discussion. At present I want only him at the birth. I don't mind visitors in hospital, but i don't want anyone at home after (staying i mean) i would also rather take a taxi with just me DH and baby (he doesn't drive at the mo) than have someone pick us up.

Does any one think i am being too precious about this or do you agree that it should be special just for me, DH and our baby? Dh is happy to go with me on any decisions on this matter.
  • Faye - like father like son hey! lol ...the tesco nappy basket was in a voucher book ..hth..I think it is special for you DH and the baby, its your choice what you do, im the same , you only have that time once...cherish it
