Honestly Glam, you pay a fortune to subscribe and they can't even supply you with a decent box. I've sorted it now but have missed half of CSI New York that was recording, and that is my favourite one. And I can't see a Five+1 to record it later.

When I'm off and they recorded bits are pretty much empty I will complain and get them to send out another box, and if they seriously think I am paying for another one they can think again. Also hoping to convince them to give me a good deal on movies when I'm on ML. Figured if I'm going to be up half the night, then I might as well have something good to watch to help keep me awake.

You're not alone with your interupted sleep fitzio, I am up every 30 - 45 mins  I think you are due a few days after me, i'm due aug 31st.

Please let me do go into labour tonight, I dont know why I am even kidding myself, this is my 4th and i have never gone into labour spontaneously yet!

    MBM x

god that would drive me nuts waking up like that. i think i only wake up because i drink a lot in the evening but i still only wake up once for toilet.

when i'm in bed i don't sleep well cos i'm either getting earache for snoring or my joints hurt so i'm tryin to roll over!!

this RLT really does bring pickles on - after every cup I get loads for awhile after.

Basically my job is totally unsuitable for a pregnant lady- I am on my feet for the majority of the time (6 hours a day, at least), constantly bending down to get things, cleaning etc. My boss has been helpful in suggesting ways to make it less unsuitable (ie. not carrying the heavier items, sitting down when quiet) but I'm now at the point where that's not enough. Is the onus on me to accept that my job cannot reasonably be changed any further and that I need to start Mat Leave ASAP, or is the onus on them to suspend me on full pay as no reasonable alternative can be found? I really don't want to sound like I'm being a big old moany pants, as I work really hard and have been so dedicated to my job, but I think it is really affecting me at the moment and don't want to risk mine and baby's health. Really interested in others thoughts before I see my boss tomorrow. I only actually see here face to face about once a month. Thanks in advance.

    Sorry for the long post!

I can't remember if i've said before but i'm an assistant manager for a discount german supermarket, you know the type where there 2 staff only in the shop all day:rolleyes:. I'm contracted to 48 hrs a wk and they made no concessions at all for me being pregnant. They go through a risk assessment and whatever but at the end of the (12hr) day the work still has to be done e.g unloaded 10 pallets of stock a day.
In a job like this I don't think you'd ever get suspended on full pay, I can see this happening only when theres chemicals or similar involved IYSWIM?

The only thing I was able to do in the end was go off sick or risk my health. Been off sick since beginning of July and ML started on 3rd August at 32wks. Theres still no cover beeen sorted for me, and TBH I couldn't care less at this point :o Its not my responsibility and if the area manager isn't losing sleep over it why should I?

Would defo look at going off sick rather than risking you and babys health x

both my Oh and BIl worked at one of these stores during college - they had thm in at 5am and thy had to work right thru, unpacking pallets, doing the till as quickly as possible and cleaning. They were both knackered at the end of the day so god knows how you managed whilst pg!

i think these organisations (like the one i work for) figure there's always people out there who want jobs so no-one is indispensible so they don't bother looking after the staff they have no matter how good they are!!

Thanks Glam and Kavinam. Sky is playing ball at the mo, except I just fell asleep in front of it. I'll have a proper look tomorrow and see if I can see what the problem was.

27 weeks exactly for me tomorrow as well fattybooboo!!
We are getting there slowly but surely lol!!
    MAJOR VENT WARNING!!!
Just found out at the beginning of the week that our ward is definately closing on the 1st of october. We were all meant to be going to work in a new infectious diseases ward but now despite having spent god knows what refurbing the inf ward they don't have the money to open it and it will be mothballed!!! Don't you just love the nhs???
So we are all being split up and sent to different wards that are short staffed. I will be going to my "new" ward for one week before I start maternity leave, really stressed out over it all. To top it off when I did my return to work after the flu sister was counting in all my absences and included pregnancy related ones (when I was off bc of bleeding etc etc) I tried to tell her they don't count but she says that in my trust they count ALL absences. Can't find any info on the web to prove my point!!!
Thanks for listening to my vents lol feel bit better now its off my chest!!

My sick absense still gets written down, but when they are adding up my sick for the year they dont include it (for warning purposes)

Jillie - aww why werent you allowed to play with buggy again lol

Harley - my sky box records stuff even when its turned off (when the red light is showing) so fingers crossed yours did

Fitzio - you didnt get a 20 week scan? How come?

Morning all, Hope everyone had a good night.
What are/did people use for morning sickness?
I have the constant feeling that i am about to be sick, and hating it.
I was recommended ginger in water or ginger biscuits neither helped before so I am open to ideas.

Labor vibes to all that want them.

A lot of people say those sea sickness bands help?? Also snacking throughout the day so nausea doesn't take hold.

Nothing worked for me either tho! Was hospitalised(sp) on a drip with hyperemesis at 12 wks and was on medication until 20 weeks. Still have sicky days now at 34wks.

Hope fitzio doesn't mind me butting in (!) not all PCT's in Scotland offer an anomoly scan. Most of the ones that do won't tell you the sex..
