We've lived the life of riley for too long, lots of meals out driving all over the country wining and dining, mini breaks and its caught up with us (we've been together 3 years) so now we need to address it.0 -

my debt was near 5k but chipped away at it but when i was pregnant i started spending my extra money that i should of been throwing at the debt on ice cream, chocolate and pretty much anything i saw in sainsburysive planned my meals for the next 28 days (get paid every 4 weeks) it should be £120 but thats not including nappies but i stocked up on them on boots 3 4 2 ... i used to have nothing lived very little then i got a job and the extra money put me in to bad habits then moving made it worse (although dont regret it for a second) and my ectopic last year meant no money as on ssp and lost of other things .... but now is the time to tighten belts and get on with it and its plus plus as the tighterthe belt the more weght i lose and the sooner my debts go x
Still searching .....:)

I can relate to this. The best and fittest me and OH have ever looked in our lives was in the year after we graduated from university when we had overdrafts to pay off, and back in the days when there was no such thing as student loans and overdrafts had to be paid off the year after you graduated. This was the year the Poll Tax was introduced, and our income for all bills and food (not rent or poll tax) was £30 per week, so we had a strict shopping list and were often found examining every lump of cheese/pack of meat in the fridge at the supermarket to find the one with the lowest unit cost!
I lost about a stone and a half in the six months it took us to get back on the straight and narrow, was hugely fit as we walked or cycled everywhere we could, however long that took, and looked amazing. Sadly that didn't last for long when the debt was paid back and better paid jobs for us both came along, but I suspect we have never been quite so healthy since either!0 -
its bad when debt = skinniness :undecided x
Still searching .....:)

SM - Thats what id like to do.
I received my pay slip yesterday and they started paying my smp even though im still on leave till my mat leave starts on monday 20th. We work 2 weeks in front 2 weeks behind. Not much difference but still depressing.
I want to tighten our belts and get the debts paid off , then i'll tackle paying off the mortgage. I've bought everything i need for the baby , just a mattress now and f milk. Nappies are real ones and saved a fortune there.
I've been looking at different threads recently as not sure i want to go over to a baby thread when shes born (no offence anyone) i feel baby orienated now but think i want to go on a diary type thread or something similar and focus on the debts and the baby weight.
How have u done on the weight front - if u dont mind ? Its never really bothered me (wrongly so) but we have booked a 2 week holiday next year and i want to look half decent for that
x0 -
evening girls!
How r we?
HYPNONU - I didn't look at the link cos it will probably be something really yummy that i can't have and then i'll want chocolate to make me feel better
SM - wow £120 is good for 3 of u. I think thats roughly about mine for 2 of us. When I shop I tend to stock up on freezer or jar stuff that's on offer - like 12 boxes of Reggae Reggae Chicken Breasts - £1 each!!!
Normally just have 1 each but we are starving today so being naughty and having 2!!!
well, I found out today I can work for my new employer before baby is born without it affecting my SMP. So plan is to go on Mat Leave on 14th August, have a week off, do a week with new employer then stop working.
I have to do an induction which isn't until the 24th August  but will mean I won't get bored at home, I'll get an extra weeks pay and it's a different job and it's not like I'll do much in one week!!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Glam, it's not actually a massively sweet snack thing, that's why i made it, i found it made 25 bars and to sweeten it used one can of condensed milk and the cranberries? Which i didn't think was too bad considering how many bars that goes across. I've just had one and i don't think they're very sweet?
Really nutty and yummy though.....0
