Yeah I would like 3 (I am preg with 1st baby) but OH only wants 2 BUT only cos he wants them to have a bedroom each, so unless I can afford an extension to make the house a 4 bed I wont be having 3 lol

Ok things have really changed since last baby. just off the phone to the doctor and they aren't even interested in seeing me or doing a test. He said you've been hear before no need to repeat a test if yours was positive.

I have to collect my folic tabs later and just wait on an antenatal appointment. He said that given my erratic period they may want to get me in for a dating scan(yes please).

Total time of call 6 min, can't believe they don't even refer you to a nurse for blood pressure etc. So it may be weeks before i find out when the bump is due.

What am i going to tell people thats usually the first thing they ask when you say you are expecting,when are you due... erm some time next year i think great start.

How long did people what on their dating scans?

I'm not sure what i will do to be honest. I suppose the big stumbling block is that you cant guarentee what you get and although any baby would be loved unconditionally i would only try again because i want another little girl. The otherthing is the 35 yr age limit i know i can have kids after that but i dont want to although this pregancy has been the smoothest of the three in terms of complications i can certainly tell i'm not in my twenties anymore and i dont want to be drawing my pension before my kids have grown up.

We have the room and if i decide to not be a SAHM we deffinately have the money but then do i want to spend my time at work like i did with the other two and miss out on everything again. So my mind is like round and round and round i go where i stop nobody knows!!!!! :-)

Well my dentist appointment was cancelled today. :mad: Fourth time that’s been done now and I’m not happy. My dentist is great but he’s just never there. I demanded I needed to be seen asap by someone as I’m having a lot of pain so I’ve got an appointment with someone else tomorrow morning. At least I’ll get seen but it’s a shame I can’t have my nice dentist! Plus the guy I’m seeing doesn’t speak fantastic English which doesn’t really help matters.

Oh well, got midwife appointment at 1.15 today so that will be nice. I assume she’ll take bloods as I didn’t have them done last time and check my wee as I wasn’t asked to bring a sample to my first app either. What else will she do this time? I’m 13 weeks.

I was really shocked by the lack of attention that gets paid to you these days in the early stages of pregnancy. As other have popinted out though unless something is wrong there is very little they can do for you at this stage so they dont seem to bother until you hit about 20wks. I had my dating scan at 8wks due to an ectopic pregancy last year but i beleive they are routinely done at around 12 wks now. Have you ay idea at all how far gone you are? get yourself booked in with the midwife she will be the one who will book your scan most docs say the midwife booking should be made for around 8-10 wks :-)

Morning all,
Today is the first day in several I`v even had the energy to log on to the net. This tiredness is killing me and when I`m not sleeping it`s morning sickness grrrrrr.
Still I'm planning a lazy day online today so I can bombard you all with questions.
First one of the day; How long should I wait for the midwife to call? My doctor wrote a note to her saying I needed an urgent dating scan but that was just over a week ago and I've still heard nothing.

They will check your urine and your blood pressure and ask if you are generally feeling ok and if there are any problems and they may have a feel about to see if everythig is where it should be. Some may have a go at finding the heartbeat but i think most leave it until after 16wks as they can be hard to find up until then. If you havent had your bloods checked they will give you the forms to get that done too :-)

fishcake do you have the midwifes number give her a call yourself if you are worried. My doctor called me with my dating scan appoinment s mine was classed as urgent as well but i didnt get a card through the door from the hospital unitl a couple of weeks later confirming the appointment.

I was just worried about being classed as a nuisence or an OTT mum to be.
