Hi All, Just a quick hello, labour vibes, sticky vibes and hugs to all who need them.

I have my 28 week appointment with the MW this pm so assume that it is to check urine, blood, baby positioning? Am dragging DH along too so he doesn't get to miss a second of this exciting part of the pregnancy (especially when they check my urine!! :D)

On saturday morning I felt a horrible pain in my stomach - the only way I can describe it is really bad period pains - I was doubled over with the pain - but after a few minutes it went away and I put my feet up for the rest of the day (its a hard life;)) as they didn't come back and I knew I had my MW appointment today I didn't bother calling up or anything, but my only guess was braxton hicks??? Not sure though - does anyone want to enlighten me - although I will be visiting the MW later as I said so will prob ask her then.

Also, I bought my reusable nappies last night :D I used The Nappy Lady - not sure it is very MSE but I was so happy with the demonstration and the fact that you can call them throughout your using the nappies for help and advice I though I would use them (plus I got 5% off because they had recommended the stuff to me).

    Hugs to all, Karen x

PS Sorry but it makes me feel sick and my head hurt when I read through all the messages so will not be looking back. Hope you are all okay though.

Fitzio - No im still here! No posting just lurking looking for births etc.

The birth is on the back burner at the moment and unfortunately the last thing on my mind. We've had alot of trouble with a neighbour who seems to be single-ing out my ds3 whos 12 but more like a 10yo. Stalking him , running after him around the block whilst my sons been on his bike, watching him from the house etc. We've tried to be amicible about it but ended up at the police station last night. We're just waiting for the police to come and interview my son so I'm not in the mood to post but just lurk a little.

OH is worried about my stress levels, I feel o.k but did have a massive contraction last night where it was excruciating pain for about 20 seconds and I couldnt move at all . Thought that was the start of things, just a few pains since ..then nothing.

WM - Ta for asking about me too.

Hope everyone is o.k , sorry to come on and post but it helps to "talk" and get it off my chest. Labour vibes to the others like me who needs them! I am thinking of you all just that i need to sort this out before I'm more socialible

    hi guys...

i think i'm going to change back to my maiden name by deed poll... does anyone know if the baby has to have his father's surname because we will still be married?

ideally he'd have his father's details on the birth certificate but my surname (which should be easier for claiming benefits etc as i've heard of parents being investigated for fraud when trying to claim for their kids with different surnames to themselves...)

i can only find out what info the cert needs, not how that info is decided (ie baby's names)

Suzy - hugs to you. Not what you need at any time but especially at the mo. Hope the police sort it out for you.
fitzillian - Sorry I have no idea, but I would have thought they would put on what you want on the birth cert.

    Hi Suzy,

Glad to hear you are ok. Post anytime you want to. That sounds like a total nightmare with your neighbour. Is it another boy or a grown up? Hope the police warn the neighbour off and that's an end to it. You don't need extra stress.

Karen - Glad your pregnancy is progressing and hope your appointment is ok this afternoon. I think I have had a couple of Branston Hicks, but not sure. From what I have read, they really shouldn't be painful though so if you were in pain I would not think that's the cause. Ask your midwife. I sometimes get pain if I twist or move suddenly. SIL has been getting "round ligament pain" so might be that? Not sure though.

Fitz - no idea about names sorry. I would have though you could register the baby in whichever name you choose.
In fact according to this link, you can choose any name:

Being off work and sitting around doing nothing, I don't have anything better to do than wonder where everyone is! Not heard from Squishy for a whille either!

Off for a Radox bath now to "relax my muscles".

    thanks... might try calling.

it'll be interesting to see what address he choses... he doesnt want me to know his girlfriend's address but i refuse to allow him to put his parents down cos that isnt where he lives.

house is a tip- so much needs cleaning, sorting, washing etc.. but cant be bothered. might go and grab the chocolate ice cream and a spoon...

Am i right in thinking you are at St georges as well !! , It's just have scan next week and last time just before i went in they asked they asked me to go to the loo , so now i wondering if i need a full bladder or not !! Thank you.

St Georges are great - no need for a full bladder at all, just eat and drink what you normally would. Take a drink though because if they can't get baby in the right position for all the measurements they may ask you to have a drink and walk about a bit to get baby to move. Noogle didn't move for me but they had me back first thing the next day and managed to get all the measurements.

Also if you only pay for one or two photos you can still end up with three - not always so depends how much you want them as to whether you take the risk.

    Good luck.
