I went to the health shop earlier to buy arnica capsules. Apparently they don't sell them, although you can get a tincture. I asked how it was used but had no idea what the lady was telling me - so she did an interpretive dance for me. Apparently you mix a few drops with water, soak a clean cloth in it, hold the cloth between your legs and then shimmy on it. I almost wet myself - sensible middle-aged German lady miming a stripper move in the middle of her shop in the middle of the afternoon.

In case you're wondering, I didn't buy it.

Hi ladies

I'm still here, lurking, so please don't take me off the list! By the time I've caught up I've forgotten half of it/missed the moment/have nothing of value to add so I haven't posted much yet

I'm 13+4 and it still doesn't feel all that real even though in just 6 months I could have a baby! I really want a doppler to see me through till I can feel the baby move but DP has said no :mad:

I'd really like a home water birth but need to convince DP it's a good idea. I have no idea where to start with buying stuff so we're going window shopping today

I will be back but in the meantime, thanks for keeping me entertained, sticky bean dust/labour vibes/hugs to all that need them x

Afternoon ladies,

Just an update on my sweep

EDD tomorrow , midwife just called to do the sweep at home which apparently is a big no no around here. I said i wouldn't tell anyone if she didn't (so shhhhh) did the internal and couldn't find my cervix, it's right around the back and needs to come forward so she can stretch it. She asked if I had back ache, I have and I've never had it before. She said the baby could be a while yet and she'll see me Friday 7th.

I've never been overdue before so I feel very down with it all. She's told me to kneel down and sit with my bum on the floor with legs open to encourage her to drop down a little. She was engaged last week and now has gone back up!

Anyone had any experience of this or have any tips on bringing a cervix around ? I've had a quick look on the net but can't find anything

Hi all,

been reading through lots of pages thought i would introduce myself,

I'm nikki, 36 , from Milton keynes,4th baby due 25th feb 2010, a bit of a shock pregnancy , but myself and DP very happy now we have got used to the idea of a new additoion to our family , I have 3 children from previous relationship,14yr,13yr and 12yr, my OH has 2 children from previous relationship too 10yr and 5 yr, so as you can see this is why this pregnancy was shock:eek:.

Went to midwife 2 weeks ago and she heard Hb really loud and clear so she thought i was further along than i 1st thought, she thought i was 13-14 weeks , where i thought i was 9 weeks, anyway i had my scan this week and was told the baby was small and i was 9 weeks and 6 days but we still saw baby and heart beat which was great , i now have to go back on 10th august to get confirmed EDD and to have downs syndrome and spina bifida tests , ( these are making me worry a little, never had these tests with previous children)

One of my friends had her baby the day after me, we were on the same ward but different rooms! Hers was a normal, straight forward birth, but her baby was 10lb 4oz :eek:

My birth story last week with Roni was very straight forward and she was also 10lb 4 oz!!!!

Afternoon what rubbish weather.. well we had our 4d today...

Baby was moving loads and had foot and hands in front of face, so difficult to get a great pic but am happy with what we got.

On the way I had a small choc bar and drink to get bump moving, went in and got ready when the 4D came on I came over all queasy and felt v v faint so she turned it off and I got some fresh air, this happened a few times during the hour we were in there. All measurements great, at the upper end of weight and size scale at 2lb,13.

They also confirmed we're having a girl so need to sort out names, and maybe make the dinosaur themed room not so scary ha ha
