I think I am low risk and am 30yrs old (Although my friend in North London was recently told by her hospital that anyone over 30 should have the nuchal scan). We have already lost a twin in this pregnancy and it's my first pregnancy so really its just for peace of mind.0

well girls, i tried to catch up and post no less than 3 times yesterday, and everytime i got a few sentences wrote, or tried to reply to someone i had to do somethign else, or someone called....so lets see if i can do this from memory and a quick scan through.....
welcome to the newbies!!!!! enjoy the rollercoaster that is pregnancy for the next few months! (dont worry, its squash! lol.)
Congrats on team pink beanie.
Been thinkging about triggles and Niknaknoo -- hope u have a lovely bundle of joy right now.
CONGRATULATIONS NMS - im still jealous you Queue jumped though!! hehe
Suzywuzy - some labour vibes coming your way ( the quicker you have youres the quicker i can concentrate on getting my lo evicted!)
skintchick -- i dont think i explained myself properly on my post - i dont want to be induced todya at my appointment, would just like them to do a sweep to see if it does start things. Im all for doing everything in my power to get this baby to appear. im so sore and uncomfortable i could cry.
Glad to see you are home now tia and have a date to concentrate on....
I know for a fact there was more than that that i wanted to say....but a whole day later, my brain wont allow me to store it!!!
ha, Sugar - about being tetchy - i am all the time. OH said to me the other day "i so cant wait til the baby comes" i was like, aahhh, thats lovely....then he continued "cos your a moany cow these days!" lol. now that gratitude for cooking a baby for him for 9 months. lol
Glam - your nesting will come. with a bang. prepare yourself. hehe - about the pram cover. if it was me, i would tend to go with the one that matches exactly - but im fussy like that!!
and about work -- i wouldnt bother sending them instructions....then they will know their !!!! from their elbow and be begging you to help again!!!!
nancmat - i doubt it happens very regularly, but both my pregnancies with DD and this one have both been completely textbook - as in, no bleeds or other major worries, exept for a uti with DD and possibility of GD witht his pregnancy, but turned out to be nothing...just because things CAN go wrong, doesnt mean they always do!!
Thanks for the vibes workinmummy....trying to use them up as much as i can!!
about payig for scan pix....we got 2 each time, at 12 weeks and 20weeks and didnt pay for them, but no1 mentinoed to us that we had to either.....so i dunno!??
think OH has starteed his nesting. came home early yesterday evening to hear that he had a surprise! i got excited - he was gonna paint the living room!!!! Just a coat fo white to clean it up a bit. i was very appreciative, but yesterday i felt like poo all day and that really was the last thing i wanted to happen in my house. However, it got done, and looks lovely and clean and fresh. so am glad. wonder what he will surprise me with today......!!!

GISI - I pay health insurance direct from my wages and most things are covered by the insurers. Health insurance is mandatory here, and it's expensive but it's done on a percentage scale of your wages. There are some things that aren't covered (toxoplasmosis screening wasn't covered) and I pay a quarterly admin fee of €10 if I go to a doctor in any of the year's quarters (but it's only paid one time, so any further doctor's visits are covered till the end of the quarter). Dental care is heavily subsidised by the insurance but not completely covered, and the basic costs of birth are covered but there are various options to upgrade the standard of accommodation etc.
It's a completely different system and very much patient-driven. If you want something, generally speaking you can have it but you'll probably have to pay extra for it. They're also much happier to farm patients out to specialists, which means there's a lack of continuity of care but at the same time you're guaranteed to be seeing someone who's specialised in what you're suffering from so the quality of care is generally better.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I didn't pay either Carla but did notice a box asking for donations when I went for my 20 weeks anomaly scan.
Just got told by someone else today that I am "definately having a boy" my bump is way lower than it was with dd and baby is lying in the pit of my stomach and am feeling all my movements down there as well.
However, they did tell me at my 20 week scan that my placenta was anterior so I presume that is why I can't feel them further up!!
Betty- we don't get offered nuchal scans here but I asked for the triple test cos I was concerned (not routinely offered unless you are over 35) they had no problems with doing it and my results were back in less than a week.
GISI- lovely bump I am 25 weeks and have a neat bump as well, dh out at work but when dd comes in will ask her to take a pic.Coming soon............
Brand new baby first showing in November!
Brand new baby boy (Matthew) born 3 weeks early weighing a diddly 5lb 4 oz!!0 -
Has/does anyone here work for a healthcare insurance company? I'm pretty annoyed because my health insurance are saying that i can't have anything for my ceasarean because it's for Placenta Previa but they would cover a ceasarean required for a breech baby? and they've said that they will pay out if i end up having an emergency caesarean but not because i have to have a planned one because otherwise me and baby will die????????? Where's the logic in that?
I just want to know if it's worth my time and effort to kick off with them about it, or if i'm likely to get anywhere because I've been paying for bloody healthcare for 10 years and the first time i've ever needed to be in hospital and needed to claim they're telling me that I can't? Grrrr....0 -
Morning all,
NMS – Ooh the little love, he’s gorgeous! Thank you for taking the time out to post your piccies.
Carla- Just hold on in there, I thought our LO was coming last night as lots of period type pains and backache and the dragging down the thigh pains , even woke me up at 5am but took a paracetamol and went back to sleep.
I’m going for a power walk today as she HAS to come out! Keep your legs crossed please until I’m done! …Good luck today and if you have a sweep let me know on a scale of 1 to 10 how painful it is as I’m having one tomorrow at home. I'll let you go first !!!!
Ok Just skimmed through the posts, brain is like jelly today so sorry if not commented much. I’m on a mission to evict this lil lady so catch up later as it’s a lovely day here (well its not raining anyway) so I’m popping on my ipod and going walking as fast as my waddle will allow.
Hope everyone is well,
Suzanne

Wow Carla - can't believe you remembered all that!!
Just had 2 messages about the pram covers - one that matches and one that doesn't so waiting to see if they will add Buy It Now's - if not I'll wait and bid.
I always get told it's a boy cos it's football up jumper style bump
I also got told today that my bump had dropped  I bl00dy hope not - not yet anyway!
Well, just taken 1 calcium and will take the other 2 after lunch. Think I'm going to have to stretch all these tablets out throughout the day - I can't be taking 7 HUGE tablets after tea! Also had a RLT and have decided to just start on 2 cups a day rather than 1.
Just asked work to confirm they will def pay my annual leave when I notify them I am not returning - with it being in next annual leave year I don't want them turning around and saying 'Oh we didn't say you could carry it over'A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

Hypno that's ridiculous. I'd kick off at them - you can't be expected to risk your life just because it means a bit less paperwork for them.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
