I thought our LO was coming last night as lots of period type pains and backache and the dragging down the thigh pains , even woke me up at 5am but took a paracetamol and went back to sleep.
I’m going for a power walk today as she HAS to come out! Keep your legs crossed please until I’m done! …Good luck today and if you have a sweep let me know on a scale of 1 to 10 how painful it is as I’m having one tomorrow at home. I'll let you go first !!!!
Sorry she didn't oblige last night. Has hubbie gone to get the car on his own then, and didn't that mean he was going to be in orbit for about 5 hours? Definitely hope she doesn't even start to make her appearance until he's back in range, then big labour vibes for one of your speedy births!0 -
Got my work Inbox down to 100 :j - now got to pluck up the courage to delete the 3000 in my deleted items and then make a start on Sent Items and Sub Folders :rolleyes:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

If my lil lady stays inbetween the 75th and 100th percentile, she should be about 7.7lb next week. I am oh so very glad I am not going full term!
The boots changing bag, I can fit half a pack of pampers newborn nappies, full pack of wipes, 3 vests, 3 babygorws, 2 hats, socks, 5 bibs, 6 breast pads and a small baby bottleExpert packer, me
awww GISI that is one cute bump! I can't remember being that size anymore!
Workingmummy, these are the ones I ordered from boots A number of people have siad that they are comfy.
No nuchal fold for us here. There are signs up asking for donations for scan pics, but when we asked, they said 'oh don't bother, nobody bothers anyway'. And I've had a few scans now
*labour vibes for Suzy*Eviction! Eviction! Eviction! :T
Hypno, can you claim for the nights you will be in and have been in hospital instead???
Vaseline - use on babies bum so the first nappies are easier, and if you have a vaginal birth, use on yourself before a pee, it really does help cut down the stinging!!
WM, my hospital give you a little bag with 6 pads then it's up to you to supply your own. Plus the boots ones are softer anyway.
Glam, more pants for a vaginal birth! Some baby bath too, it's nice and soothing to sit in a bath and baby bath won't sting (I only had labia tearing with DS1). Cranberry juice too! Even if you hate the stuff, it makes you less likely to get a UTI. The vaseline I mentioned. Hmm... Oh and when you need to go for a poo, fold a pad in half and hold it against your bits (whatever bit is sore, section scar or lady bits), makes you feel less like your going to fall out. Oh and 2 face clothes for your breasts if they get sore when your milk comes in, alternate them hot and cold.
Jenny, the first few nappies from baby have the meconium, it's a thick tar like substance from them digesting amniotic fluid. It is sticky and gross, and usually comes out in an explosion. It's black/dark green and murder to get off. Think it was DS1 who had his first one in his incubator with no nappy on, the nurses had to spend ages cleaning it off the plastic and he needed a bath!
Nozza, I don't like nappy wrappers, sorry. I think they just encourange you to keep nappies in the house for longer when really they still stink even in the bin, it just goes a sweeter stink. I just pop them in the kitchen bin in a nappy bag, that gets emptied daily anyway. It only takes 2 days for urine to start degrading to amonia in a nappy.
Whew, that was long! But stopped me from doing the dishes! Which I am going to do now and get DS1 to take the washing upstairs and DS2 to hoover0 -
Thanks for the advice everyone. Sounds very gimicky from your inputs so think I'll give them a wide birth (so to speak)0

Has/does anyone here work for a healthcare insurance company? I'm pretty annoyed because my health insurance are saying that i can't have anything for my ceasarean because it's for Placenta Previa but they would cover a ceasarean required for a breech baby? and they've said that they will pay out if i end up having an emergency caesarean but not because i have to have a planned one because otherwise me and baby will die????????? Where's the logic in that?
I just want to know if it's worth my time and effort to kick off with them about it, or if i'm likely to get anywhere because I've been paying for bloody healthcare for 10 years and the first time i've ever needed to be in hospital and needed to claim they're telling me that I can't? Grrrr....Hello ladies.
I'm only 14 weeks pregnant at the moment so still very early days and like many others on here just trying to determine which are the essentials and which are the "not really that necessary but nice to have" items for the little one.
Also trying to plan ahead and snap up the odd bargain when I see it rather than having to shell out for everything at the last minute.
While browsing through Tesco's yesterday I noticed they had the Tommee Tippee Nappy Wrapper Tub reduced from £29.99 to £9.98 (or something similar, was less than a tenner in any case). The additional cassettes were in there at around £3.99 which I don't think were reduced.
Just wondering:
a) Are these actually any good or are they a bit of a gimmick?gimmick
b) Are these normally available at around this price in any case so not really a bargainthey're often reduced, the angelcare one is cheaper if you wait you get a voucher once you've had baby to get it from argos for £4.99
c) Having looked on the internet there seems to be many different options with these, so if anyone has any experience is there anything I need to check - e.g for £30 should it come as part of a kit with a number of cassettes already with it to get you started? you usually get at least 1 free cartridge
Thanks everyone.
I've got the angelcare bin thing, it doesn't keep the smell in any better than nappies in nappy bags in a normal bin but as it holds less it forces me to not be a lazy cow and empty it more often0 -
guess who got a pram apron in black? :T:T:T
Lovely ebayer added a Buy It Now of £12 plus £3 postage - would have been £25 brand new or £20 off other ebayer so am chuffed with that.
Just need to order pram liner and moses basket mattress now.
Have decided that as OH isn't in a hury to put cot up I'm not in a hurry to buy the mattressA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Be warned when I have cranberry juice it makes Ed throw up a LOT!! it's now banned from my house0 -
