    Nicki, tenna lady pants?

Did she have a c section? They tend to suck most of it out, that's one of the positives I managed to think of! :D

Nope - she had a natural delivery!

I agree with you its nice not to have too much bleeding after a c section. I had none at all for the first week or so after mine, and wondered what all the fuss was, but then it started as the stitches dissolved inside, and I bled for 17 weeks. With my vbac, I haemmorredged that night, bled like a stuck pig for more than a week, then kept bleeding at a lesser rate for around 6 months! I am so envious of these women who bleed for a couple of weeks only :o

This time round I'm going to ask for a mirena to be fitted at my 6 week check and hopefully that will cut down the length of time I bleed for. I'll be nearly 41 for heaven's sake - should be starting the change of life, not bleeding for England at that age!

Nicki, here's hoping you get the normal bleeding this time! Third time lucky and all. With DS1 it was 6 weeks (vaginal birth) then a 2 week period. DS2 light bleeding for 1-2 weeks then a light discharge for about a week, then another 2 week period.

My minera never cut down my bleeding and then it ran away... but starflower oil did. I take it for PMS

looked at my notes - seems baby is currently just over 5lbs at 32 weeks

that is what OH was when he was born at 36 weeks, I was 7lbs 7oz at 42 weeks.

Anyone know if you can work out expected birth weight from knowing the weight now?

you can work out current weight using scan measurements at this link:

Skinty, I hate to ask a TMI question, but how much mess is actually involved?

Is there such a thing as TMI once you've given birth? I don't think there is!!

Short answer (long answer will be in reply to your PM tomorrow) is I dunno cos the mws cleared it all up. I don't think too much though - the duvet I used with pads on top was washable had I wanted to wash it, the rest of the house was fine, but oif blood on birth ball, some on pad on bathroom floor but not much.

For whoever asked how much mess is actually involved in the birth process, I was told that normal blood loss is around 200 - 350ml and that heavy loss is anything more than 500ml, but that actual volume will look much greater because it will be mixed with amniotic fluid and mucus. So bank on pouring between 1-2.5 pints of blood and water over your shower curtain or nappy pads if you're going for a home birth, I reckon

Intersting. My notes say I lost 100ml and my waters had gone completely before so I didn't have too much coming out.

I will say that whatever I lost, added to the weight I burned off in labour and the 2kg you apparently lose just before you go into labour, has resulted in total loss of a stone leaving me just one stone to go to pre-preg weught, but I am so slim again even the doctor commented :D I'll post a pic when I can cos I am sooo smug even though it's nothing I did just luck.

Glam, I'm no help on prams, I can't tell a mooloo from a boogabug!

Skinty, you smug so and so! :p:p:p

Back to me, me, me... I ordered 2 pairs of joggers, 2 short sleeved hoodie tops, 2 vests a nice general top and a long cardigan/light jacket thingy from peacocks :D And the cariwell pants, witch hazel and another pack of pads from boots. Desperately trying to think of anything else I need. Nappies I have a range of sizes and can send DH to get whenever. Wipes etc I have. Hmm... breats pads, yes. Can't think of anything else but no doubt I will have forgotten something! :D

Skinty, I'm so pleased it's all gone so well for you.

And it is 4:45 and I am awake and very annoyed about it. It's too hot, I hurt, and I can't sleep for thinking about the mess in the apartment. Husband claims to have taken out the rubbish and yet the bag in here hasn't gone out and I am guessing if I were to get up I'd find the bathroom one still there too.

I know they're wired differently, but it's really bothering me at the moment. Is anyone else really tetchy?

Glam - it would look ok but would look better in black imho. Is the difference between the two about 15 pounds if so i would go with the new black one.

    Thanks for the opinions girls!

I just saw the one in Pistachio and thought 'Um, I wonder if that would look OK as I do like the pattern'

Anyways, first night without a toilet break for a while and boy did I know it this morning when I did get up! Peed for ages and bump went for 40 week size back down to 32 weeks!!!

In work, just waiting for my toast to be ready and then I better do some work. Not going to put myself out thou - just get some stuff done on my list.
