So your little beanie must be growing very well. Its very confusing all this isn't it cos they told me that I was 6+2 based on babys size not my dates but 3 days difference between you and I must then mean 0.38mm which seems an awful lot.
Sorry ea I have probably confused you even more lol
Haha, it to confusing to work out alone! I'll just wait until my 12 week scan and ask them how it works then

GISI – I did get the red bag. They had nice summery colours in the sale though, yellow, turquoise, orange. It’s lovely!
Jenny – I have been suffering from the same kind of heartburn. It’s just acid at the back on my throat, not in my chest. It’s nearly made me sick a few times when it’s been bad. I find ginger beer helps or Gaviscon (cool mint tablets are the nicest!).
Xmas – very pleased that you can probably get your home birth! You seem VEEEEERY happy about it lol!! :T
NMS – Liam is such a cutey. He looks gorgeous.
Glam – I don’t even get a growth scan so no idea what to expect. Midwife just feels and said she wasn’t worried about the weight as it feels a good size. And yet my bump doesn’t appear to be that big!
Tia – Glad you are getting a date and your little girl can stop teasing you.
Pookie – my belly button has been threatening to be an outy for a couple of months now but it’s only ¾ of the way there too. Sometimes it changes and looks normal though so must depend on how baby is lying.
Hello to everyone else. Labour vibes and hugs where needed. Off for a bath myself now. Although I am probably the only person who gets bored in the bath and wants out after about 5 minutes. I need someone to talk to or something! Maybe I need a waterproof laptop.0 -
EA, I had a bunch of early scans and my Mutterpass has all the information:
5mm - 5+2
8mm - 5+4
9.6mm - 6.3
10 - 7
And then she's too big for those measurements. However, from looking I now know that she weighed 2.6kg two weeks ago so should be lurking around 3kg now, or just under 6lbs.
I'm tempted to go for a bath myself. Or do I want to eat something first? Probably.
Edit: I just had a quiet fit of rage because I've not been paid - but it's not the 31st, is it? I'm just rageful.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

boogellyboo wrote: »Any ladies that already have a little one, how necessary is a carrycot for the pram? We've bought the streety travel system and the seat unit does lie flat but it doesnt look very cosy. I dont drive so when I go visiting people babies going to be in their quite a while and I dont really want her scrunched up in the carseat all that time. Their selling on ebay for around £65 delivered, is it worth it or should I save the money for something else?
Boogellyboo - We had a Jane pram/puschair for our DD with a Matrix Pro which was a special car seat that lays flat as a carrycot (either in back of the car or on the pushchair frame) or raises up in to a normal group 0+ car seat which again fits in car or on pushchair. This was a very important purchase for us as there is a lot of evidence that anything more than an hour sat scrunched in a car seat can be very damaging for a young babies internal organs and spine.
When we bought it I thought that we would probably use the carrycot option relatively regularly but only for the first couple of months. In fact we used the lay down option almost every time in the car for the first 6 months as DD always fell asleep anyway & looked so much more comfortable laid flat. On the pushchair chasis we used the carrycot option every time for the first probably 4 months and beyond this we would have her sat up (there are several reclining options inbetween!) whilst she was awake and then as soon as she looked sleepy or fell asleep we'd put it back into carrycot mode. We actually kept using the carrycot/car seat until DD was about 10 months at which point I had to concede & fit the forward facing puschair onto the chasis (my only major bug bear with the Jane). The car seat actually goes up to 9kg laid flat & 11kg sat up so would have lasted DD until she was nearly 2 .
When choosing our pram I had also looked at the Loola but didn't choose it as I was worried about needing the car seat when I was out with the carrycot or vise versa as our car was too small to take both out. However, the carry cot for the Loola ia outstanding (my nephew had one) very spacious and comfy for baby and is also able to be fitted in the rear of the car as a flat car seat.

Glam - at this stage of the your pregnancy all the e-mails i've been getting say that the baby puts on about 0.5lb a week from here in.
so maybe you could estimate from there? but then remember that all babies will develop or gain weight differently...
So about 8lbs thenNot too bad but bigger than I thought. Will have to keep diabetes under control otherwise it will be bigger!!!
Bear_family wrote: »How did you find out the weight your baby is now, G? Where did it say on your notes - very intrigued.
Anyone drinking raspberry leaf tea as an aside?

Hi Bear - not seen u in agggggggggggggggges!
I've got gestational diabetes so had a growth scan at 31 weeks, it says on scan report the abdominal circumference and u can go on a website and work it out.lil_miss_06 wrote: »hey glam,,not sure if this helps but last week when i had my scan they said baby weighed around 4 and a half,,i asked what they think it will weigh at birth and they said about 8 and a half ,,so im thinking half a pound a week till due date,,,,
Yep so about 8lbs!!!
Well, boss emailed me to say she has got it wrong and they won't pay me the annual leave before. I am fuming because they put it in the letter that I would get it in August and now they are saying May. So incompetent - said I was very disappointed that they got their information wrong and that I was relying on that money and will now be in financial hardship. Guess I'll have to use the money I have put aside to pay my dad back and replace it next year when I get the money.
They will only pay me the 11.25 hours that I will have accured by the time I go off (I have already taken 105hrs) and the rest when I hand my notice in or finish Mat Leave.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
looked at my notes - seems baby is currently just over 5lbs at 32 weeks
that is what OH was when he was born at 36 weeks, I was 7lbs 7oz at 42 weeks.
Anyone know if you can work out expected birth weight from knowing the weight now?
Glam at around our stage they tend to put on roughly half a pound a week so mine is 6lbs now so will be close to 9lb when born if i have 6 wks left @ 1/2lb = 3lbs:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Thanks Nikabella, its the carrycot off the loola that i want as it'll fit onto the streety chassis. They both have the same mechanism and bebe confort said they can be mixed and matched. The one I was watching on ebays just sold for £87 though! Last week when I was umming and aahing they were always going for £50 + delivery. Id read they shouldnt be in the carseat for more than 2 hours and if I get the bus to my nanas it'll be at least that just going there and back.
Right, off to convince OH we need the carrycot and have my pizza and wedges for teaBelly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -

Actually mine was 5lbs at 31 weeks cos scan was last week so 8.5lbs by 38 weeks. God, imagine if I had gone to 40 weeks (9.5lbs) :eek:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I have to say I don't hold any stock by these growth scans. Sorry to bore anyone who has heard this story before - Spent my entire last trimester with DD being prodded, measured, scanned, seen by consultants etc as everyone was convinced that DD was going to be tiny (5lbs they kept saying) and that she needed to be induced early so they could fatten her up after birth. My bump was small and hadn't even appeared till I was about 6 months but I spent those last 3 months being worried sick by the medical proffession.
I declined the induction and DD ended up being 12 days overdue. Even whilst I was in labour the midwives were worrying over the size of my bump. When I gave birth the midwife held DD up & I exclaimed "She's so gorgeous & small!" to which the midwife replied "There's nothing small about this one, I don't know where you've been hiding her!" - DD was 8lbs 5oz
So this time (if I get there) I'm going to take any growth scans/ estimations with a large pinch of salt!

EA- just dug out my early scan and bubs was 12mm total length and 8.9mm crown to rump at 7+3. Don't know if that helps! Just realised that is very similar to Csh.
Just been out for the most amazing curry with OH. Feel very relaxed now as have nothing to do tomorrow morning so can lie in as long as we want and just chill out. It's only taken till day 5 of our holiday for this to be the case!
Nikabella- that is a really sweet story, and just goes to show that they never really know.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
