SS - yeah, I think large doses of lavender oil are more what the websites are referring to. Something like a few drops in a large bath would be so diluted that almost no way it could do much of anything.

Castor oil - uck! I thought that was just for cleaning your insides out, ick.

SugarSpun - when i was reading up about the lavender people were saying they used a full bottle of lavender in each bath.
I think you may need to bath in nothing but the lavender people for it to be strong enough :rotfl:

Thanks to all those thinking about me and my spider. I didn't sleep very well last night and as soon as I heard the front door going this morning I shouted at OH to come and get rid of the spider which he did with minimum fuss making me look a total wimp.

Does anyone else occasionally get an acid taste/feeling at the back of their throat that doesn't go away for ages? Going to google it but just thought I would ask here as well.

Oh, apparently it's just a form of heartburn but I've only even had heartburn in my chest before :o

I used to get that, it was acid reflux. The doctor prescribed me tablets to line my stomach which stopped it.
Have not had it at all since i became pregnant tho.

    hi girls.

i had a scary night last night, think it made the realisation hit in that this is going to happen soon - even though i just want it over !! If you see what i mean.

i kept getting sharp (make you stop in tracks) pains, they only lasted a few seconds and were every few mins, they were pains 'down there'. and they really hurt :( once i'd laid down they stopped and i managed to get some sleep.

At a guess i'd say it was the head moving down, i was 3/5ths last friday at midwife so presumed babies moved further down, i'm on my ball today willing something to start. I've gone from being relatively comfy and bump not bothering me, now i'm quite uncomfy, walking is an effort. and just generally feel bit rubbish. all this after last nights antics!!! please god let it be the start of something over the next week.

Fitzio - that story made my skin crawl...horrible

And the talk of cockroaches and slugs, god i wouldn't have slept if i'd have been reading last night!

    Happy Due date SS

Glam - no idea bout H&B as i always send OH to get the stuff i need from there on his lunch break, so i "order" from him in the morning and he "delivers" by the evening...perfick!

ML- the bellyboy has been super active for a few days now, they just seem to have spurts where they wiggle more and other days where they're a bit more chilled - just like us!

Tia - Sad to hear you're in hosp but good that you're coming out today!

xmas- sending strength vibes your way, make sure you write down everything you want to say or ask so you don't forget anything

Jenny-glad he managed to dispose of the spider, the acid taste/feeling i get too, it's acid reflux(acid indigestion/heartburn) so you need to get on the gaviscon!

About the discussion last night, I don't really want to get into it to be honest, but it doesn't bother me if people put lists and things on here as a lot of chat goes off topic but it's all relevant to our pregnant lives right now so live and let live i say.

Nicki- i really hope you won't take massive offence to this and decide that i'm having a go at you but i remember the initial conversation in which SS made the healthy baby comment, I think you need to appreciate that it's just a turn of phrase and that when people say it's not a personal attack on you but just a hope that all parents have, that their baby will be healthy, and if any one of our babies wasnt healthy or was born disabled then so be it but it doesn't mean we'd actively wish for that to happen, we'd hope the little beans will be healthy. Just try and see that's not a personal attack on you, for example a few days ago someone used the phrase about being hit by a bus tomorrow, well 5 years ago my brother was hit by a bus, and died but it doesn't mean they were attacking me or trying to upset me or not considering my feelings, it's just a phrase (which of course upsets me but that's not going to stop everyone in the world using it). I spend ages trying to put this in the right words, so i do hope you will take it in the way it's meant.

OK, update from me, i called the Antenatal clinic at the hospital this morning as i still hadn't heard from them about my revised section date. Apparently the consultant had said to them that she wanted to move my date to the 7th August and apparently there's no slots on that day at the moment, so i'm effectively on a waiting list and if a slot comes up then i have this baby on the 7th and if not then it's the 11th as previously planned, obviously if a have another bleed that'll probably throw it all out and who knows when i'll have the baby then!

Sorry to anyone i've missed and feel free to skip my whole post if anyone finds it boring! :D

    Morning ladies
Just got back into work after consultant appt, which went quite well the only reason i would need a c-section is if bumper is trying to be born anyway apart from head down !!!, Also they will be able to tell me more at 28 weeks and the 32 weeks. so that has made me feel better. Just trying to catch up god you girls have been busy. however i did Read some one recommened counselling to beeniecat sorry if i got the name wrong. However i would recommened counselling to anyone, i done a training couse, for a year and a half and passed my 1st part, then i found it too upsetting and was nearly crying at some of the stories so dont think that would have mad a very good counseller. However from that i gained so much and would highly recommend it, apart from the guy that had a affair so his wife left him she went on to meet someone else and he could not handle it, had to stop myself from saying well it's only what you deserves. :T
Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j
