    That's wonderful, xmas!

I'm on hold with Barclays. I've been through two incompetents so far - the first one transferred me to someone who isn't a manager but who attempted to tell me I wasn't entitled to speak to one. I yelled at him sufficiently to get him to get me his manager. I'm waiting for him now - we're currently up past 30 minutes of phone time for about 6 minutes of talking-to-a-person time.

SUZY- i have a range of friends who have all been a bit strange since i got pregnant, some are not bothered just the odd text to see how doing, some are over the top about it, then theres a couple who vary, one minute loads of texts, emails, visits, then the next thing no contact for ages or comments about how horrific birth is they will never go through it again - not really reassuring for a first timer!! i just take it all with a pinch of salt and will reasses depending how they are with the baby.

if they want to be part of my life in the future we all come as a package, take it or leave it.

Sugar banks are completely useless these days i have as little as possible to do with them. Have you tried causing a fuss in the local branch let them run their phone bill up for you trying to sort it out ??

yay, xmaslolly!!! Fabulous news for you :D.

SS - this is why we don't bank with Barclay's. A long time ago ex was constantly having issues and could never raise a competent person on the phone, so I mentally made a note never ever to bank with them! My DH gets what he wants with banks by generally being very pushy & sounding like he knows banking law (when he doesn't!). He can be sooo persuasive so I let him do all the stuff like that for us!! G'luck.
eta: I realise that totally wasn't very helpful, LOL...sorry! :p

A few of you mentioned the clique feel to this thread a while ago, and that the parent thread is like that now too. Its not, just some of us have been posting for the same amount of time and know enough about each other to have separate conversations. No one was ever made to feel left out on purpose if thats what any of you thought, and if any of you didnt post because of me, I'm sorry

when I posted I didn't think there was a clique feel I though to myself 'I'm a naive or is it because I'm part of the clique and don't realise' Like you say some people are close - some of us met on here at around Christmas time so obviously know things about each other that others don't.

I'm already easing myself into the parent thread slowly by trying to find Sami and Weezl to ask them things!

Glam, how you holding up honey? I saw work were being funny about your hol pay, did you get it sorted?

Still awaiting a response! Other than that not bad - can't believe I've only got 6 weeks to go!!!!

Suzy - I've not really got any friends :o I have work colleagues and OH's work colleagues but other than my friend who moved back to the US, it's just me and OH.

He's my bestest friend in the whole wide world :D

Turn the tears on as well SS they dont know how to handle crying women on the phone they just get the backsides in their hands if you shout at them normally.

Well done Xmas !! - Great news. Im having this one at home too. My 3rd HB. If she came before 38 weeks then i couldnt do as that seems to be the timescale around here. I received my HB pack last week and laughed ,it consisted of 7 maternity pads, the type you put on your bed, the bag they use to give you use to be huggggge! They like you to provide your own shower curtain now (1.99 at asda) so get one of those in ready!

They dont actually tell me the weight but it is alwasy printed on the growth scans in grams you just need to convert it then, mine was 2742g which according to the internet calculator is roughly 6lbs. You should also have a growth chart in your notes that they plot at your midwife visits from the measurments they take from your bump that will also give you a rough idea of weight :-)
