I have a smallish wheeled suitcase but don't want to use that as I know how pi@@ed of I get when people bring these into our ward and I am constantly almost tripping over them!!
Oh no! That's what I have! What's less inconvenient for the staff, and will bringing them gifts of home made cookies make it less annoying for them?

Definitely off to bed this time. The cat's bizarrely desperate to get me in there. I wonder why........? Goodnight all - xmas good luck with the consultant.

Maybe its just the layout of my ward, bed space is very small and these cases can't obviously be folded down and put into the locker and they can't fit underneath our beds either so they generally live at the sides of beds. Bloody nightmare when you are on night shift or god forbid patient has an arrest!!
Maybe your maternity wards will be a bit more accomodating in terms of space and it won't be an issue.

Hey Carla just noticed you're from Belfast are you going to the Ulster ??

Oh and Sugar, homemade cookies will make anything better!! (as long as you and dh look clean and presentable). Had a wife bring in homemade buns, nice idea except for the fact that her husband and her stank of b.o and he had toe and fingernails that were encrusted with what must have been years worth of dirt and were yellow and curled like talons. Oh and he was crawling with lice in his hair and long straggly beard!!
Thanked her for the buns and went promptly to the kitchen and chucked them in the bin, trying not to retch at the idea of actually eating them!
