That's unbelievable elastigirl - no wonder so many people are getting it when there are inconsiderate fools like that around. We have a friend who just received a donor kidney. She hasn't been out of her flat in about three weeks because she can't risk being exposed to it while she's so immunocompromised.

Fortunately the Germans are health-conscious and over-cautious, so anyone with a sniffle has been immediately signed off work for ten days and told not to go anywhere or do anything that involves getting near other people. Anyone sneezing on public transport ... the staring down they get from other passengers reminds me of the Children of the Corn.

Skinty, you posted while I did - good luck and I hope it all goes really well for you.

    Ooh Labour Vibes for Skinty.

You know i don't remember any of this, brackston hicks, early contractions etc when i had my DS, just woke at 3am in severe pain and that was it, we were off. 7 cms dialated when i got to the hospital at about 5am. Still took 14 hrs of labour and an emergency section to get him out though.

Has a little shopping spree on-line last night.

Have ordered some Canvas/wood waredrobe/draw set from Argos for babies room http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8752927/c_1/1%7Ccat_12107022%7CBedroom+furniture%7C12107390/Trail/searchtext%3ECANVAS.htm

And Changing station form Kiddicare - Big thanks to Tia for that one.

Know i could have gotten one cheaper at a car-boot, but DS's hectic sports and social life, prevent me from doing what i want on a Sunday morning, so will never get to one.

Think most of the HIP grant is now gone. I really need to "loose" my maestro card for a month now, until next pay day.

Also had delivered to work today Cot-bed mattress from Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAXICOOL-Fully-Sprung-Cot-Bed-Mattress-140x70x10cm_W0QQitemZ280352933114QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Baby_NurseryBedding_RL?hash=item41465644fa&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30
Looks good and very comfy. OH's parents have already given me the cash for this and they very kindly bought paint for the nursery yesterday.:T
OH is off to Argos later to look for a blackout blind. So we should then be sorted. Once he's done all the painting and DIY tomorrow with this mate, whilst i am in hiding at work.

I'm logging off now to have a shower and go out for a walk. I may or may not be back, depending on what happens.

    Keep sending the vibes!

Skintchik - great news!!! ELVs for ya!!! How exciting!

Elastigirl - god I hate it when parents bring their kids in to school when they're sick anyway, but with swine flu as well? that's just irresponsible. Problem is that these kind of stupid parents are everywhere. Just can't seem to escape them! grrrrrrrr

Kindof - we do have a temporary shortage of room in our house, so I understand the whole "cotbed doesn't fit in our room" thing. The carrier cot from travel system can be used as well, if you get one of those, instead of a moses basket. The pushchairs/prams/travel systems thing is a whole new area of scary. lol We really went round and round on it. The nice thing is that you have plenty of time to look and get other people's opinions. We actually asked someone (while we were out and about in town) that had the exact travel system we liked what they thought of it and got a favourable response - which is nice to hear after they've had it a couple months and have had the chance to put it through its paces. A good idea is to take the time to see the pushchair/pram/travel system (whichever you choose) in person, not only because it gives you a better idea of size and weight (IMO) but also to make sure the handle is tall enough to be comfortable to push (essential for DH who is tall).

People here are great for advising not only what they liked but didn't like about a particular item, so feel free to ask here if you're unsure. I agree that a lot of the magazines make it seem like soooo many things are essential, and they're really not. I will admit that the bouncy chair/rocking chair/swing thing is nice - we have the rocking chair as I like that it lays flat as well. We won't have all 3, as the rocking chair is sufficient for us. But again, it's your choice, and lots of people have gotten great deals on secondhand ones.

Enjoy the shopping and browing and agonising over all the stuff - it can make ya insane, but it's also kinda fun!
