Just to add to aless's post - if you go down the second hand moses basket (like we have), crib or cot - the current guidelines advise buying a new mattress.
Also - the 15% off baby is only on full priced items.0 -
Elastigirl that's so stupid. It's amazing how inconsiderate some people can be. I hope it works out ok for you.
Kindof I've been feeling the same, it's really hard to know what you need and don't need! Although I have picked up some good advice from the very knowledgeable ladies on this thread :money:
Ooh skinty, hope things are going as you want them at the moment!
Morning everyone else! I slept really well last night and am feeling good as a result today. Very excited about moving house on Thursday too! :j0 -
On the moses basket thing we bought a pushchair that came with a carrycot attachment it cost us £10 more than the model we liked that didnt have one and now i have no need to buy a seperate moses basket. Just another option to think about :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Thanks for all your help guys
me and OH are going to have to get thinking lol
I know he liked the look of the bouncers (thanks for telling me the proper name lol) and I do like the look of the moses basket and it would be nice and handy having it downstairs for the baby.

Kindof its just the tip of the iceberg so to speak half the stuff the glossy mags and web sites recommend isnt needed at the end of the day and i even now after already having two and having been and bought everything for this bubs am having second thoughts on some of my decisions. Unfortunately that is parenthood for you, you always want whats best and will always second guess yourself. :-)
Sarah goodluck for thursday i hope everything goes to plan for you :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

Thanks!! I hope so too! We are only renting so not as much hassle as when buying and moving. Plus I get off lightly this time as I can't be doing any lifting, bending, stretching straining etc!! So I will be cleaning up the rooms as they are emptied and generally overseeing the move :rotfl:
Still got a bit of packing to do but got tons of sturdy boxes from work so not too bad really. Oh has already taken apart the massive wardrobe we have and is taking the legs off the kitchen table today then we are about ready to go! New house is amazing though, can't wait to get in and make it "ours" :j0 -
Elasti really can not understand some people, well i can i work face to face with the public everyday and they still amaze me, how selfish they can be. Still feeling lightheaded went to doctors yesterday and yes it was low blood pressure, however she said it's quite common at this satge 19 weeks. Just to eat and drink more. Also got to hear bumpers heartbeat again which was good made me feel a bit better. Then it was home and sofa for the rest of the night thought oh was going to cook then he decided to get a chinese take away instead. Still dont feel 100% but have a once a year meeting at work so i had to come in. Just hope i feel better for my birthday on Sunday. Big labour vibes to skintyDarling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0

Morning!
Well, last night i went to bed with the contractions having stopped, and had one of the best night's sleep I've had in ages. Apart from getting up to go to the toilet about four times, I slept through and felt rested when the alarm went off for OH at 6.30.
Once he'd showered I decided to go to the toilet because i felt like i REALLY needed to go and as I sat up and swung my legs out there was a whoosh of wet! As i stood up there was more whooshing so I raced to the bathroom, but yes, it was definitely my waters going!
I sorted myself out with a pad, and told Oh he wasn;t going to London after all! he panicked and started preparing the living room for me, taking down teh dining table and putting things in the garage, and then put the car seat in the car in case of transfer.
I phoned the doula, and she is still going into london because I told her I'm not having contractions, but having spoken to my friend who has had three children, I AM! :rotfl: I said 'well, I've got these tightenings and I feel like mild period pains' and she said 'those ARe contractions!'.
Well, they are quite mild anyway, so Iv'e done the dusting and washing up and tidied things, and I'm having some crum;pets and tea before I get showered, and then my friend is taking me for a walk by the river to get things moving and fill some time.
OH is working from home but a bit freaked out and obviously wants to concentrate on work until he is properly needed, so I will amuse myself.
My cat is pretty freaked out too - she can tell something is happening (she knew yesterday to be honest) and is wavering between being all over me and not wanting to be anywhere near me!
My show has started now as well when I wipe, although no blood, just clear mucus.
So there we are! I will update later if I'm able to, but this is it!Skinty's chick should be hatched fairly soon!
Oh yes, forgot to say - I started taking my calcium tablets last night for pain relief. not sure if I should have been taking them earlier but I guess anything should help. I'm taking 2000mg a day which is 8 massive tablets.
I'm so excited!!!!!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
