I've been having a look around and can't find the cheaper releases of Win7. I've checked Amazon, Tesco, eBuyer, PC World so far and they're all at around £80 for Home Premium now.
Anyone spotted it at the reduced price still?
UPDATE!
Ah, didn't realise that the price would increase on set dates. Anyone bought an extra copy at £50 want to sell it? :-)0 -

yes the price was always intended to rise, but the first rise was not supposed to happen to august 14th i believe, then it goes to full price at the beginning of next year, the reason you cant seem to find it at the original cheaper price is each retailer will have only been allocated a certain number to sell at that price, once they have sold that allocation, they then would have to sell at the mid price which should have kicked in from mid august, i cannot understand why microsoft have set such a low allocation to be honest, after the dibacle of vista, you would have thought they would want as many people to get hold of a copy of 7 legally as possible, but alas no they sold out of the allocation in japan in under 3 days and the same seems to have happened in the uk(well slightly longer here, but not much, some retailers sold out of there allocation within hours it coming available), i hope you manage to get a copy i did, but that was cause i ordered as soon as they became available, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -

Just had a quick gander for you. Haven't checked it out thoroughly, but it looks like Additions Direct still have it 'cheep'It's showing as £49 plus ~£4 postage, and both TCB and Quidco have Additions Direct at 8% CB.
(I thought it odd that the little description window says something, "Enjoy a faster, easier, safer web experience with Internet Explorer 8." I thought W7 came 'browserless'...'spose they mean when you dl it from MS or whatever.. <shrug>)

I am running W7 now and to be honest I'm not finding a lot of difference between it and Vista, I've only been using it for a day or so. So I can't say whether it's better or not, one thing I will say is.. if you move up to the 64bit version from the 32 bit, then the choice of programmes that are compatible is greatly reduced.:oI must, I must, get my post average up to 1 a day!!0

I skipped Vista so XP to W7 was amazing so I had to pre-order it.0
