It only applies to certain models as well so you may find that it being a refurb, it might not apply. However you can always hope!;)

well i figured that if i do get it then its a bonus but i wont be upset if i dont, i like vista anyway.
Im not sure how they work with refurbs though because i bought my desk top as a refurb from dell and it came with the end user software agreement screen that appears the first time the system is powered up, this means the system has been reset to how it came from the factory and the disk was sealed, not sure if that means they wipe the original .

As far as I'm aware, refurb doesn't mean 2nd hand, it might just have been ordered by a customer and then returned under distance selling regulations, without even being unpackaged. Least that's the way it works with mobile phones anyway!

Well im currently running the RC version (and will do until Jan / Fed 2010) at that point I will do as I did with vista, I will purchase the OEM version, I know, I know Im not allowed the OEM version, but then again, have a quick look in micromart or online with ebuyer and they will sell it to me..... :)

The only difference I will make is a move from the 32Bit version to the 64Bit version - as I feel its time to make use of more then (just under) 4 GB ram..... :)

You are allowed the OEM version, it just has a couple of restrictions. Firstly, it will be tied to the PC it's first installed on, so no upgrading and using the same license (officially). Secondly, you'll need to contact your system builder for support (i.e. yourself), as MS won't provide any support to you.

Theres no upgrade version for europeans. It also has no browser. Its supposed to be 79.99 and the offer is till the end of december. I guess this board is going to be busy soon with ' i have upgraded and have no browser' and various microsoft rip off type threads.
Seeing as they wont have a browser I doubt that :P
