£10 Amazon voucher redeemed at Pigsback to go towards DS Christmas. Aiming for a NSD. Shouldn't be too hard because OH and I are painting DS room as he is staying with his grandparents!

Hi gfplux, Totally agree. I have set up a standing order to pay it weekly so that I don't notice such a small amount - worked this out to be £6.92. They have my first payment due date as 8 August 2009, so I have paid the £30 and started my standing order so that I am ALWAYS ahead of the game:D.

I can't give them an excuse to start adding on interest again:eek:

Hi All, Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. We have been DIYing in DS room. I've also been ebaying my little heart out although I have spent some money. DS needed a school bag for next year, and I bought a dress for a wedding we are going to. However, I console myself with the fact that it was brand new from ebay and I paid £1.04.:D

It sure does, although I haven't transferred anything into my savings for days and I'm feeling VERY GUILTY. But, overall I feel better dealing with this now, than I have burying my head in the sand for years.:)

    Hiya

Im sure you have already done this, but have you applied to all the nurse banks around you? Glasgow, Wishaw, Stirling, Paisley? Etc.

Im a midwife in Scotland and i banked for 6 months before getting my post. I managed to get enough hours between the hospital i trained in and another close to me before i got my job.

    Good luck :)

Hi Moneylover, the bank would be ideal however for a while they weren't taking on newly qualified as they felt they couldn't offer the necessary preceptorship. Then that changed and they open up the bank twice a year to newly qualified with a limited number of places. However, someone came in to speak to us to say until the QMH closes in January, they will be releasing posts and those who interview and are unsuccessful will be considered for the bank :(. Not to worry, my interview is in London tomorrow. I don't want to be so far away from my family but needs must. Thanks I appreciate your suggestions, I have speculative letters in with just about anything that resembles a maternity unit in Scotland!

Good luck with the interview tomorrow. perhaps it'll lead to something nearer home.
