Hi Moneylover, there was a massive campaign a few years ago but it really only delayed the inevitable. The "work" is being shared between the Princess Royal and Southern General which have both been remodelled and /or extended. The QMH closes for business on 13th January 2010. Yorkhill will follow suit once a new sick kids facility has been built.

Congratulations. You're on your way and will clock up all the lovely experience you need for a job back home.

Have you had to commit to a certain period or can you leave when a job closer to home comes up?

Congratulations, glad you have got the post. At least if you cannot get something closer to home you won't be out of a job. Verbatim, it would be unusual to have to commit to a post within the NHS for a specific period, although there is probable an argument for completing you preceptorship in the one place.

Thanks Verbatim and Ladybez. There is no minimal commitment, but as you say ladybez I plan to complete my preceptorship at the unit in order gain maximum benefit. Also when posts do come up in Scotland they usually have a requirement to have completed preceptorship or flying start. Very excited!!!! OMG I have a job! GULP!

Anyway all, back to this DFW stuff. I've received a letter from BOS inferring they will only deal with CCCS / Payplan re DMP. Have drafted a sent a letter saying "thats a load of rubbish". No reply to my CCA requests as yet.

Another £10.45 into my F&F pot (child tax credit paid weekly).:money:

Had a rather indulgent splurge last night to celebrate getting my job and now I feel awful about it. We took DS to XScape to play 10 pin bowling and mini golf. We spent £50.

Feel awful now, it was paid in cash - but it could have gone towards a debt. It really doesn't feel as good as it used to.:o

Congratulations on the job, Gargrave - at least if you will be staying miles from home then you can do loads of overtime. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Nargleblast. I've calculated that with the extra money I get for working away it pays for my accommodation and travel and will still enable me to "take home" the same salary I would if I was working in Glasgow.

Afternoon all. Given my disaster yesterday I've decided to set myself some targets for 2009 so that I can start 2010 with less debt than I have today.

    1. Pay off Next Directory currently £1209, accepting reduced payments of £30 per month. Hoping to save enough for a F&F. Awaiting their response to my CCA request.

    2. Cahoot loan last payment January 2010 so hoping to pay this off by the end of December 2009 to have one less creditor in 2010.:D

    3. Would LOVE to get rid of this at a balance of £2890. I have offered reduced payments, they have ignored me:mad:. I've CCA'd them - awaiting a response. Not holding my breath:rolleyes:

I thought making my goals public would pack the pressure on to achieve them:o
