    Hey,

Thanks for delurking - I still plan to check in from Oz too! I'm going to assume you've never looked back?!

Off to take a look at the Good Guys:D.

No, NEVER looked back, was the best move we ever made, we love living here, haven't even been back for a holiday and no intention of doing so at the moment.

Australia is an optimistic forward looking country, also still has money!

I have never been to Perth so not sure about it. If you have problems with The Good Guys site, I can send you the link.

Just had a thought that might be useful to you, Coles Supermarket have a better rewards scheme than Woolworths, so sign up for Flybuys (that is the name of their rewards scheme) as soon as you are able. However, I think you might be able to get rewards points via Woolworths for your Singapore airlines flights, they might be part of the Qantas frequent flyer scheme, you will get a lot of points for that flight from Blighty. There are leaflets for both in store.

I know you will be madly busy when you arrive so just a thought really.

Not even sure this maks sense to me! Sorry if I am confusing you. x

    is there anything left?

Oh yes there is - pop over tonight we'll open a bottle and get listing ;).

Mostly clothes and some odd home bits and golf clubs. Haven't really done a proper look round, but as I'm running out of time and its p!ssing of rain today should do that today:p.

Didn't list anything further on Gumtree or eBay last night before the vino took hold.:o

WOW Gargrave 50. Just finished reading your diary from page 1. Was worried I wouldn't get it finished before you left for Oz, but like everyone else once I started I was hooked and in the end finished it in 4 days. (Was annoyed when DD2 dropped in for a visit this evening when I had only 8 pages left to read, but hey, she had to go home sometime)
Congratulations and well done on everything you have achieved. You really have been an inspiration to many people with your drive and especially your energy.
I know the 'new you' will certainly succeed in Oz. :T

Bless you Lezley:D. Thanks so much for reading it - I'm always amazed when people take so much of their own time to read what I've been blethering on about for years now!

The diary was only ever meant to keep me on track - along the lines of public humiliation (I liken it to weightwatchers).:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've had more support on here than I've ever given, and its mostly down to the drive of others on here which got me started in the first place. It just turns out that I'm a bit like a duracell bunny once I get started:D.

I'm assuming you read diaries for a bit of ? advice, hope your own situation is getting in hand:j. Thanks again so much for reading, I too am confident the "new me" will succeed Down Under!

I don't know about the rest of you but every time she posts about something going up for sale I expect to see

"Going cheap, only one careful owner, 1 other half, otherwise known as Alan, for sale. Only bites if you ask him nicely"

Well done on yet another busy, productive, successful day Mrs Busy Bee smiley-vault-misc-006.gif

Love the bee smiley (and the others!) Granny :D.

It was a partially busy, productive day - hoping for more "business" hours today less the sauvignon:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

BTW I did think of a similar ad, but I reckon two salaries are better than one in my Aussie bank account:D.

Fantastic advice thank you. So glad to hear you have settled well, I'm hoping the same for us:j.

Thanks for the advice re: reward schemes in store - will get right onto that my first shop:p. Also have signed up for the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer miles scheme, and earned my first 9000+ miles, was hoping we could use them if helping family members pay for their flights over at some point?

Keep the advice coming if you think of anything else, and thanks again:A.

Just realised - one night on the Sauvignon and look how much I've missed!:p

Horrid day here in Glasgow. Alan's friend is coming to service the boiler to give us the gas certificate we need for renting. His other friend is coming to connect the radiator which went into the attic conversion months ago! Alan is supposed to be bringing his tools home tonight to do some of the odds and ends which need finishing. The first two have more chance of materialising!:D

    Non-stop work for me today.

Didn't find the receipt for Hobbycraft, I do recall scrunching them up and putting them in the bin a couple of days ago come to think about it:eek:. Will print off the transaction on our bank account and take that up, see how far I get.

No post for me this morning, except some junk mail from Aviva Car Insurance. Seeing as i don't have a car anymore don't think I'll be needing that!;)

Had a couple of emails re: the Samsung 32" LCD TV on Gumtree, 2 people offered me £100, one of them came back with £120. Declined both for the moment - it's on for £170, but in reality would be happy with £150. Have emailed to this effect but offering to compromise at £140 - keep your fingers crossed!:)

Their return policy reads "must produce proof of purchase", and indeed my bank statement is such proof;). That would be a refund of almost £60:j:j

It is Winter in Oz at the moment, temperatures around 22-23 but rainy on and off. I reckon if that's Winter I can hack it:D.

Advertising a DAB radio on Gumtree, and some nasty little woman  (see they are not all nice ladies) emailed me asking for my phone number. Nothing else in the message, just send me your phone number. I emailed back saying I prefer to communicate using Gumtree mail and not to give out my personal details.

The nasty little beggar emailed back saying "that makes you a scammer, I don't like people who don't want to deal face to face".

I emailed her back and said I don't have a problem with you coming to see the radio - isn't that face to face. Horrid little lady.:mad::mad:
