  • I have spent the last 2 days reading this thread from the beginning. I have to say I think you have done so well and wish you and your family every sucsess in your new life in Oz. I hope you carry on posting would love to hear how life pans out for you over there.

We have our problems with debt, but I have them in hand and we HAVE to be debt free in two years. I am going to start my own diary to help me keep on track.

    Hey csarina

Gargrave appears to be 'indisposed' ;) at the moment following her leaving party, so welcome to her diary. I'm just a few weeks ahead of you in reading the whole thing through start to finish, and I hope you got as much out of it as I did.

Don't forget to let us know what you've called your diary thread and we'll all pop in and give you some moral support.

And stick around here too. Gargrave has promised to keep us all entertained from Oz :rotfl:

  • HHMMMMM just as I thought a 'real' scottish send off then.:D:D It sounds as though everyone had a good time. Hope the sore heids were not too bad and the emotion that these occasions always involve was copeable with.

    Hi allsmiley-gen101.gif

The party was bloody fabulous, had a fantastic time and over 200 friends and family came to give us an amazing send off.smiley-whacky011.gif

Feeling truly blessed, and lots of lovely very generous people mean we have envelopes upon envelopes of cash (some even got us Aussie dollars).:smileyhea

Had a fabulous time, and have been entertaining my guests from London all weekend. Surprised that I don't have an awful hangover, just particularly tired. My neighbour had a BBQ yesterday then we took our guests into Glasgow City Centre for a few drinks - had a lovely weekend.

But back to the business of decreasing my poverty / increasing my wealth.:money:

Got an email via Gumtree re: my pair of lamps for £60, a nice lady would like to come and collect them.

Must go and wash that mountain of wine glasses!

It was a rather emotional weekend, but no regrets here. Packed and ready to go :D.

The lady about the lamps hasn't got back to me yet, so I've decided she isn't a nice lady after all.:(

So tired, but leaving tidying up until tomorrow. A week on Thursday my last ever pay packet from the NHS. I have been on sick leave therefore not my full shift allowance, but hoping for at least £2k.;)

Will also do a little packing tomorrow. Will phone Singapore Airlines re: charges for additional cases.

Hoping TV isn't totally rubbish tonight, as I feel like doing nothing more than cuddling on the sofa with my boys:p.

I have nothing for sale on eBay at present, and its feeling very weird. Will rectify this tomorrow. Will also see what's left to be shifted on Gumtree and sort that out. Will have to pay all our gift cash into the bank and make a transfer to the Oz account. Our current balance over there is $3004, hoping to add another $10k to it tomorrow.:j

The weekend was fantastic :D. Wouldn't have changed anything even if I could.

Anyway back to business, have lots of ebay to package up and post today.

The nice lady about the lamps is nice again, she has gone to visit some family and will collect them on Wednesday £60. At least I will have light until then ;).

The chaise longue will be collected on Friday £85.:j

Also selling a Davina McCall aerobic step for £10, a nice lady is coming to collect it this evening. Will try to list the last few Gumtree bits today.

It's a holiday weekend here in Glasgow so will need to check if the bank and Post Office are open. Other than that more packing, some general housework (with the assistance of my lovely hubby who is off today).

Got an email from Oz this morning, no days off for me when I arrive. We land on the Saturday, I start work on the Monday:eek:.
