Has postie been yet? Mine should be here about another 1 hr or so:eek:. Halifax already been on the blower for OH. Do you think if I write a letter for OHs stating that he wishes for me to deal with this they would talk to me:confused:. Hard to get OH on the phone and plus hes useless anyhow!:rotfl:

    Morning BJ

Cole is not bad - took him to school and explained to his headmistress who is happy to give him his drops at lunchtime :). He was really keen to go otherwise I might have taken him back to the hospital as he is barely opening it. Never mind, they said they will phone if he can't manage - no doubt he'll be having fun catching up with his friends - and hopefully he'll forget about it?

Anyway the postie brought a bevvie of beauties for me this morning. I'm going to use the next post to detail all my lovelies!

Its worth drafting a letter to Halifax signed by OH, giving his consent for matters to be discussed with you as it is difficult for him to be home in order to take their calls. I haven't done this other than with Sky etc although we did do this with Morgan Stanley a few years ago - worth a try :)

    Right, the postie brought...................

    Mr T - £18 clubcard vouchers

Littlewoods - letter headed "your account is in arrears" (surely not). Asking for immediate payment of £161.68 then £114.84 by 29 Aug
I love their little paragraph "if you are experiencing difficulties in making this payment, we recommend you contact us immediately and we can discuss a payment arrangement to help you clear the arrears on your account"

Letter from my MP! - I copied them in on the Stirling Park fiasco - and I'll share their wonderful words:

"Thank you for your letter dated 12 August, plus attachments. I am sorry to hear of the problems that you have been experiencing.

I have now spoken to Robert Booth, the Executive Director of Land & Environmental Services with the City Council, and he has undertaken to investigate your case. Needless to say, I will be in touch with you again as soon as I have more information to hand. Blah, blah, blah".

Meanwhile, I will carry on paying nasty Stirling Park £5 each week......

Oooh, which brings me to the next little gem. A letter from Stirling Park enclosing a payment card to make payments at the Post Office/Paypoint. Wish I could fart in the envelope and send it back.

A letter from TretHowans re: parking fine (yes I know - I made an appeal ignored actually on proper grounds!!!) - will give more details in the next post.

Financial Ombudsman service - response from when i reported them for ignoring my hardship claim. Of course they have since offered £560 and offered no charges for next 3 months, and will consider the rest pending the outcome of the test case. Fair enough, can't really justify going forward with this, so this will be shelved. Should thank the FO for their assistance though.

AA Credit Card - strangest letter yet eventually in response to an official complaint when they ignored my reduced payment offer.

"Thank you for letter ............ sorry to hear you are dissatisfied........must apologise.

I understand you are unhappy that we have not responded to your previous letters. You state you are unable to meet your monthly payments and would like us to accept a monthly payment offer of £10.00 (not true I offered this weekly).

Firstly, I would like to offer my apologies if you have yet to receive a response to either of your letters. I can see that we have written to you on 28th July 2009 requesting a complete financial assessment because the information you sent us did not contain a list of your creditors (I sent a response to this by return enclosing a list of my creditors). We also wrote to you on 6th August 2009 requesting a completed financial assessment (they wanted my SOA on National Debtline paper!!!). I trust you have now received these letters.

After reviewing your account I can see that your account is currently up to date (a lottery winner must have made a contribution - will check this) and not in arrears. As the account is currently up to date we are unable to place you on an arrangement because on this basis you are not deemed to be in financial difficulties. I do appreciate that this may be frustrating and I am sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

If you account should fall into arrears in future, I would be most grateful if you could provide us with a new income and expenditure form completed with the assistance of CCCS or National Debtline detailing your list of creditors and your proposed monthly payment to enable us to place you on an arrangement. As a gesture of goodwill I have refunded two over limit fees totalling £24.00 and these will be detailed on your next monthly statement yada yada yada."

Will need to review this and send a suitable letter - there goes my day!

    Yes I am not finished!

Bank of Scotland VISA - sent their favourite letter which I now have around 4 copies of and have responded to each time. They are suggesting they can't accept my payments until I go via CCCS or Payplan. Being perfectly capable of handling this myself, I will make a formal complaint. Another letter for today!

Finally, the jewel in the crown.

A CCA response from Bank of Scotland VISA - or not as it would seem. I'll be really happy if this is all they have as they are our largest creditor.

We received a letter which looks like T&Cs typed with OH name and address (although they have spelt our street name Gargrove instead of Gargrave!!!!!). The interesting thing is that when the agreement was taken out we weren't at this address, therefore I suspect this has been formulated in the last week or so! Will scan it up to photobucket and post it later :) Lots to do then, off to check out BJs ramblings and a couple of other posters first.

  • Son has just offered to make me a cuppa funnily enough!
I am supposed to be shopping for food, but much prefer to stay on here and not spend any money!! Kids will want to eat eventually though.......
My biggest problem with trying to get debt free, is I want it to happen NOW! I have made all the plans, have lists coming from everywhere and have to wait for payday before anything happens :( It is so frustrating.
I worked out it is going to take 16 years to pay off our loan at the rate we are:\ and 5 years for the credit card. Oh well at least the interset has been frozen on both :)
I really must sort out some lunch now!

    Quick update peeps:T.

Have posted HBOS response on the CCA updates thread. The resident expert Rog2:money: (to whom I owe a thousand thanks), has confirmed my thoughts.

This is a copy of their current CCA, this is supported by many facts including that their charges are the current "reduced" charges of £12, and not the inflated ones in place when the agreement was taken out. The agreement was taken out 2003 at latest and we didn't move into our new house until 2004 - but interestingly enough they have the parties agreeing as them and my husband at our "new" address. Thereby it would appear they have fraudulently "doctored" their current credit agreement to appear as though it has been in place since the agreement began. Will be sending off a suitable BOG OFF letter. The account is formally in dispute at last - thank god. These are our largest creditor at almost £5k. I will now stop payments to them and save the money used to pay this to make a F&F when we can afford to do so.:D
