The main reason i started blogging and inputting in diaries is to meet like minded people,to get the support im not getting at home(like i said before my OH is an Ostrich)
Me too N2O, its hard living with an ostrich. Mine took his head out of the sand today, asked a stupid question and then went back into his shell. Oh I think I'm mixing up my metaphors there but I'm sure you know what I mean.
If i hadnt read your diary i never would have known about FF this enabled me to knock £500 off one of my debts and pay it off months earlier than expected.
Yey, well done you, saw your other pointers re your debts and have to say not long to go and you will be debt free
I've found your diary so inspirational Gargrave, its given me the courage to tackle things I'm not happy with and I'm sure I'll be debt free much sooner than anticipated because of your pointers :T

Just in case you get thirsty later whilst doing your flea baying and to repay you for the wine that Pinot and I drank last night, I'm dropping this off for you.

I've not been very productive at all truth be told:o.
Went to Cole's football. They got beat and everyone is having a go at the new Coach. Then went to the shops, Cole spent £30 of his money and is busy counting the remaining £80:). I bought my dongle to keep me online when I head south.
Went to Tesco for some shopping so hubby can do packed lunches all of next week. Back at home watching the football, and slowly putting bits and bobs on Gumtree. Haven't sorted out eBay yet. Lots of the stuff I want to eBay is in London, so think I will keep this until I get down there.
No post today - the postman has fallen out of love with us:cool:.
Change of plan for tonight - we are going to the Player of the Year Dance. Have a lift there and back and its in a wee community hall with a cheap bar. That means the car boot sale is a non-event tomorrow. I can't do it next time I'm home either as I'm only here Monday-Friday next time. That means the next car boot sale will be end of June / beginning July. Hopefully the house will have a tenant in line by then, and I can start stripping the nic nacs etc out of it:D.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Kick up the butt firmly received. Will get onto it pronto - well after this wee bank nightshift:D.
Back with a proper update later - been having some technological problems:mad:.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Sorry for the absence since Sunday. Bit of a technological mishap - the power cable for my laptop suddenly packed up:o.
Now not only is that a bit of a nightmare, it also couldn't have come at a worse time as I've got 2 documents I need to scan and fax ASAP for my Visa:eek:.
So, thinking I've found a solution, I pack my scanner and laptop in my case to bring it to London. Go onto eBay and order a new power cable and arrange to get it delivered to London. It came today, and of course its the wrong thing:mad:.
So again, I've had to go onto eBay (reading the descriptions closer this time!), and order yet another one.
I will eventually get this properly organised.
Never mind, so in view of this no death defying debt busting measures have been taken. I've not really got much outstanding, and only 70 days to go til Oz come tomorrow:j.
Doing a little bank nightshift tonight which is good - but there is hardly any bank over the next few weeks. Will need to poison a few colleagues, as this is not in my best interest:cool:.
Fighting with myself over whether or not to pull a sicky for the first time since I started at the hospital. I get full pay if I'm sick, plus a % of my shift allowance too. I'm due to fly back to Glasgow 9th July, and don't really think I have any intention of coming back.
This would help us in many ways.
1. Give me time to get all the packing done for Australia and sell off the last bits and bobs.
2. No childcare costs as its the Scottish school holidays and hubby will be working (hopefully).
Have I sold it to you yet?:D
Will have to seriously think about it as if that's the case will need to start moving stuff back to Scotland, and putting my notice in on the flat here soon.
Still fighting with our last Agent as they are trying to with-hold £500 of our £2k deposit for garden clearing and carpet cleaning. We had this out with them last month - the carpets were not cleaned (neither was the house) when we moved in two years ago and we were really upset about it at the time. We were informed by the Agent that we wouldn't have to have them cleaned when we move out. So we didn't - and now they want to charge us for it!:mad::mad::mad::mad: Plus the garden maintenance was not in our contract, and we told the owner straight that we were shift workers and not in London when we had any time off so we wouldn't be maintaining the garden. Our Contract actually states it was her responsibility.:mad::mad::mad:
Raging - better get sorted soon as I'm expecting £600 back.
I'm not in a good mood in case it's not coming across.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Forgot to say - I've actually sold something on eBay Kathryn!:A
Bought DS a WWE game and arcade style controller for the Xbox at Christmas - still hasn't opened it so its been sold:j.
Got £30+ postage. Not paid yet though:(.
Have another 3 items on ending over the next few days. Going to list the ipod shuffle with the cracked screen, the Nintendo DSi with games, and a couple of bits of clothes tomorrow night when I awake from the peaceful slumber I'm hoping to get after tonight's shift;).
Haven't sold anything else on Gumtree yet, so might try to pull my finger out with that tomorrow evening too.
Hubby's friend who he was working for should be getting his invoice paid on Friday, in which case he should be paying hubby £510 on Friday. Crossing all my fingers.
I'm going to have to think about selling our car soon too. At the moment because I have £425 deposit tied up in my current London flat, and £600ish in the last London house we haven't much in the way of savings towards our move yet, and its freaking me out:eek:. I suppose there is the £510 that Alan is owed from working for his friend too.
I know we will have the money from the car sale, which should hopefully be £4.5-5k. I'm hoping to also make a further £1-1.5k from the furniture as we have decided not to ship anything. Correction - I have decided not to ship anything - hubby still thinks we are taking the bedroom furniture;).
Am I crazy to be moving to the other side of the world with potentially just £6k in my back pocket? The answer is yes, however I'm hopeful as the first two weeks on the house are paid, and thereafter I will have my salary coming in. Plus, I've learned to live frugally at long last:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

TO DO list for tomorrow (whatever time I regain consciousness)
1. Check online banking and delay cardiac arrest:eek:
2. Tidy room and do laundry
3. Prepare food for Friday and weekend shifts
4. Chat to Alan re: my plan for a sicky:o
5. List on ebay - ipod touch (think I called it a shuffle in the last post!), Nintendo DSi, Hubby's Summer Lacoste jacket, Hubby's GStar Jeans, French Connection dress and Surround Sound System (better late than never).
6. List on Gumtree (London) - have printer/copier/scanner for sale, some fitness equipment I have here and anything else I can rummage up whilst tidying my room.
7. List on Gumtree (Glasgow) - Portable DVD player, Camcorder, Set of 2 lamps, and have a look for some other bits.
8. Start packing some bits to take back to Glasgow for my next trip (4th June).
9. Ask Alan (nicely) to move the BBQ we are selling to the neighbour into her garage, so that she can move the money into our account:D.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
