  • just about to go and start at the beginning but have you not changed your bank account? surprised you are on a dmp and have a overdraft (but you are self managing the dmp is that right, even so a new account would still be good!)
  • read bits of it earlier cos impressed you are a midwife lol. was skimming then to see if you had got yourself a job and you have....well done!

if you are having hassles with your diy dmp i would be inclined to stop, make token payments and go with either cccs or payplan. its too big a job for you to do when you are working (and working away from home?). give yourself a nice break...get someone in to do it for you.

Sorry Gargrave I'm a bit confused. Stirling park can 'miss out steps'? and don't have to reply to your letters? what? that doesn't sound right at all.
Why have you got to pay back the 500 pounds overdraft? I thought you had set up a seperate bank account so you wouldn't leave yourself short?

    Hi df,

We have set up a separate bank account, however I work part-time for a bank while I have been studying, and they will only pay your salary into a "group" account. My husband has changed his bank as he has all the debt repayments coming out and has seen the benefit of starting on a level playing field. However, I am stuck with my account for my salary.

National Debtline says Stirling Park may have sent me letters and it appears they missed out steps, but tell me that they can proceed to a court order without notifying me. I didn't think it sounded right either, but I'm just so peed off with this that I don't know what to do next. When OH gets paid tomorrow we could be really skint for a week and just get rid of this, but I know myself that is not the right thing to do.

can you appeal the court order and ask for it to be cancelled at the court as you didn't receive any notification at all? There is a process for doing that in England - not sure what it is in Scotland though. If they can't tell you what the debts are and provide details I can't believe they can get a court order against you.

Would also try the MP as well as surely the council have to tell you what the debts are for and answer your letters and they can recall it from Stirling Park can't they? Would def. try your local MP.

Thanks df, I'll check out Scottish law re: court order appeal. I have copied my MP on all of my correspondence when it went as far as Stirling Park. Plan to send another letter to them asking for their action. :)

But firstly must go to Tesco to buy paper for said letters:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Letter off to local MP explaining situation "disappointed that Glasgow city council have put us in this distressing situation, having previously ignored our request for a longer period to pay"...... Emailed all correspondence and income and expenditure to nasty nasty Stirling Park.

Back from Tesco. DS has a party to go to on Sunday for a little girl in his class. Bought High School Musical pjs for only £4.50 (half price) and a card for 98p. Have some wrapping paper in the house - jobs a good un!
