    Ooh that sounds official!

Just doing a bit more Xmas shopping - bought my sister in law's perfume and got a free vanity case as a free gift. Just Alan's 2 brothers to buy for and a few more bits for Cole. Doing good.:xmassign:

iQor have accepted my monthly token payments on one of the HBOS overdrafts (the larger one) £1 a month.

Will commence these payments Friday :D.

Wescot have sent a response using the following wording:

"Please be advised the settlement of £329.24 in 12 weekly instalments can only be accepted as a partial settlement, however we have been advised by our client that they will not pursue for the shortfall in the future".

    Is this enough?

Right off to Asda to buy the £7 Baileys for Alan's Uncle for Xmas - then Tesco to buy a few bits to make a nice bit pot of homemade soup for dinner and a nice little french loaf to make it all feel a little upmarket. Oh, yeah and maybe a little bottle of vino ;).

Just received 2 x vouchers for my local Sainsburys for this week and next - £9 off when you spend £45 = cheap 2 weeks shopping :D.

Hi there Gargrave, I haven't followed all the twists and turns, but I thought I would comment on Wescots wording above. No I DON'T think that is enough, just because they are saying their CLIENT wouldn't pursue the debt in the future, doesn't mean that they couldn't sell the bit of the debt not included in this settlement to ANOTHER debt collector.

So maybe just get it checked over by someone in the real world. Or query it with them

I'm inclined to agree with Chev. Would they accept partial payment but mark the account as settled? Doesn't sound like it to me :(

I would have to agree with Chev and MatyMoo and get it checked. I don't think it's enough for them to say that the client won't pursue the remainder of the debt. Wescots could come back in two years time and say to pay the rest of the debt. You need to check and make sure that your credit file will have the debt marked as settled. But I would check that out hun.

Hope you are well. I'm in a funnily productive mood today and am just popping in and then out lol xxxx take care xxx

  • I think it depends what they will mark your file as.

You need it full and final settlement and no less.

All the other chuff forget it.

    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Oooh. Re the Paypal!

Just checkin' it IS a legitimate request asking you to fax ID off?

I did have a request for extra info years ago and rang them to make sure, but I didn't have to fax anything.

Wouldn't want anybody stealing your identity and that debt remainder.....well, actually......;)

I have given them a call to ensure the request is legit...........wouldn't want someone else having the pleasure of my identity and accompanying sparkly credit report ;).
