Must be feeling a tad tired and emotional today - just cried at Stacey Solomon and the Iceland advert.

    My reply to Wescot :D.

    Client : Santander UK Plc
    Balance £658.48

Thank you for your letter of 8th November 2011, received this week.

I note you refer to my offer of £329.24 in partial settlement of the above balance. It is not important to me whether you refer to my settlement as partial or full settlement, but it is important that my settlement is referred to as final settlement. This offer was made intended to bring this matter to a close, and it is a non-negotiable factor that the account must be closed on receipt of the agreed settlement amount of £329.24.

I require a letter of agreement from Wescot specifically citing that this will be the case, and that I will be released from all liability once the agreed payment of £329.24 has been made. When stating that your client will not pursue me for any remaining balance, this does not rule out that any remaining amount will be sold on and then pursued by another debt collection agency. I have made this offer in an attempt to bring this matter to a close, and prior to commencing any repayment schedule I must ensure that the terms are “airtight” in order to protect myself against future action in relation to this account.

If we are unable to reach a mutual agreement regarding the terms of my offer of settlement, then I would encourage you to proceed with the legal action you have previously threatened. I am making every effort to settle my current financial difficulties, however I intend to do so in a way which ensures I will not be pursued for remaining balances at a later date.

Despite insisting that I commence payments by 19th November, you have not yet furnished me with the payment details for Wescot. Until I receive your payment details and am satisfied with the wording of your letter of acceptance, I cannot commence the agreed 12 consecutive weekly payments of £27.44.

In order for me to commence the agreed payments totalling a settlement figure of £329.24, I require your written confirmation specifically detailing the following points:

    • following receipt of £329.24 in 12 weekly instalments, neither you nor any associate company will take any other action to enforce or pursue this debt in any way whatsoever, and that I will be released from any liability.
    • you will make an entry with credit reference agency files relating to the above account as having been paid and the account closed.
    Yours faithfully,

Also received 2 little updates from my new friends at Lowell - Barclaycard are still digging about looking for a copy of my CCA. I'm sure they will eventually dig out the application form they tried to fob me off with before.

    This should be fun ;).

Just one more unfinished business item - Wescot have written to me AGAIN re: the smaller of the 2 HBOS overdrafts. £771.50 which is actually a £500 debt with the rest being made up of charges. I've already made a F&F of 50% of the original balance minus the charges - they declined. I will offer them token payments I think, but will probably have lunch and think it over once I've had a look at my spreadsheet :D.

My bank account is £4.1k in the black - this is of course a transient state as pay day came a few days earlier as its the last Thursday of the month and the bills generally come off at the end of the month :). None the less enough to bring a smile to even my husband's face:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

    Plans for today are:

Boiled egg and toast for breakfast (most important meal of the day and therefore top of the list ;)).
    Wait for the postie
    Some Ebay listing
Try to sort out paypal - wouldn't let me upload my proof of id documents yesterday
Attempt to come up with a solution for Wescot and the smaller of the overdrafts
Pay Alan's Dad the last £100 we owe him
Recalculate my totals and re-evaluate my position (sounds very serious eh?!) :D

Have just done a bit of online Xmas shopping with my survey vouchers - Hubby's Christmas from House of Fraser = £117.50 - £80 in vouchers = £37.50 on my card :D.

Also going to the Fort this afternoon to get his aftershave with £20 Boots vouchers to take off the total :D.

Still have £50 John Lewis vouchers for my hubby to use to get my perfume for Xmas ;).

Postie came - usual Littlewoods statement balance is now £1117.71. Lowell's wrote to say Barclaycard have not yet been able to source my CCA - they won't write to me again until they have been able to find it apparently. If this is actually true - I expect never to hear from them again:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

iQor have written to me saying I have breached my agreement - that might be because they wrote to me on 14th November arriving on 18th November asking me to make payment by 15th!!! A little letter will be winging its way to these eejits.

Can't have done it all before lunchtime - would have nothing to amuse me in the afternoon and that would only leave the housework!!!!
