Had a link sent to me for hubby to do his white card which is a Health and Safety type license - necessary to work on a building site in Oz. Its $49 and can be done online. The wheel are OFFICIALLY in motion
.
Decided to wait until I get back to work to do my CV, after all what else is there to do on nightshift?!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
On a serious note actually they have Microsoft Word, and I only have open office. Not sure if I do it on openoffice whether others will be able to open it ok in Microsoft Word. Maybe if there are any techno's on tonight, you could clarify this?!LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Open office, you can "save as" and select word document in there. So gerron with your CV.
As for the rest, I am blown away. Mind your new best friend is good. Does she know you are fickle! ((hugs))
thrilled for you, this is good stuff.

Morning all
My reliable postie has of course delivered the goods this morning. Sadly its nothing exciting, but sometimes its the little battles which are the most fun to win!!! More details on that in a minute.
Today - I will get my passport photos taken from my IELTS application. And later, will try to draw up a list of costs associated with preparations needed for Oz - then try to apply them to our budget methodically.
Now for the post...............
Just a letter from Santander (after their final response - morons).
For those of you reasonably up to date, you will know I fought A&L (Santander) over an issue that began with a £10 pending charge. I wrote them a letter with a cheque for the overdrawn balance stating the terms "if presented this cheque represents full and final settlement of the account, and you agree to waiver the pending charges and close this account with immediate effect". They then presented the cheque left the account open, applied the pending £10 charge which over time (with many letters pointing to the error of their ways) increased to £475!!!!
Anyway I successfully had £450 refunded to the account, but they were insistant that I owed the £25. I wrote them a cheque by return of £25, then realised I was wrong!!! I emailed them a complaint re: this. Received their final response the other day basically saying we are not refunding the £25 and you can take it to the Ombudsman. Then today received another response!!! Morons clearly don't understand their "final" response!!
Anyway, had already decided to take it to the Ombudsman, as I'm sure I've read that they are not allowed to add charges to an overdrawn balance caused only by the levy of bank charges. Also, I have a copy of my original letter stating the terms under which they should present the cheque. I can also produce a copy of their letter stating my account was at a zero balance on receipt of my cheque, but stating that there are pending charges of £10 - these are the charges they agreed to waiver when they presented the cheque. Furthermore I have their letter refunding £450 of the charges - so why leave £25? They are ALL charges.
Anyway today response reads:
"Dear Mrs G (our very favourite customer with a talent for bulletproof letter writing),
Thank you for your recent correspondence, the details of which have been passed to me for reply. I have now carried out a final review of your complaint and write to inform you of our conclusions.
My understanding of your complaint is that you are unhappy with the response that clarifies the outcome of your complaint.
Customer service is extremely important to Santander (my response will most certainly point out that Santander have in fact been voted worst for customer service) and if there is an occasion when our service does not meet our customers' expectations (sadly it does - its sh!te and I expected it to be sh!te), it is important that we are made aware of this. I am particularly grateful for the time and trouble you have taken to make me aware of your experience.
I have reviewed your account and confirm that £450 was credited onto your account leaving an oustanding balance of £25 which you have settled in the form of a cheque. Your account however was not closed because on 30 August a further fee of £25 was applied to your account (I'm speechless). I have refunded this and contacted the relevant department to have your account closed (third time lucky?). You will receive confirmation of closure under separate cover please allow 7-10 working days to receive this.
With regards to your credit file it will automatically show the account as settled once the account has been closed, please allow up to 28 days from closure for this to reflect onto your file.
Please be assured, that we do listen to our customers' views and take corrective action where appropriate, to ensure that Santander is constantly improving the serice experience for our customers (actually you don't - you do what you want).
I hope I have investigated and resolved the issues you have raised (nope). I have enclosed a leaflet about the Financial Ombudsman Service, just in case you are not happy with my investigation or decision (how kind - you're right I'm not happy). If you wish to do so, you should contact them within six months of the date of this letter, enclosing a copy of it, as they may need to refer to it for their investigation (will do).
Yours (un)sincerely,
Arrogant Barstewards @ Santander
