    HI Julie!

Snowballing is taking the highest interest debt and focussing on that, until its gone, and then the next one, using a fixed sum of money on a month by month basis.

Theres also the capacity to make additional payments.

Glad all is going well. My postie posted the post on my head this morning. I was changing the doormat. Think the word is out, that I am the anti postal person.

RIGHT, a half hour ironing then head to the other house!

Well in a nutshell it is what I thought it was. Given that none of mine have interest accumulating - not sure what to do about our remaining debts:cool:.

Never mind, the F&Fs to HBOS only have til 20th September to ignore me and they will be withdrawn. If no response by 20th September, I will make the offers to the most recent debt collectors. Well its worth a try!

Just found out that as I will be the main applicant on the migration VISA, hubby only needs to pay $300 for his skills assessment. Not the $2000 it would cost if he was the main applicant:j.

  • Yeah its all about minimising interest paid. But it also calculates your dfd for you. Fabulous news on the aus front. Was just going to read then eat chicken, but had to pat your back..... you could start a moneysaving emigration thread.

Ill be back later. Im clamming for a feed. xx K

    Hey Jellybean,

The ones I do are Globaltestmarket (accumulate 1000 points they send you a cheque for ~£30)
Valued Opinions - I get screened out of these a'lot but usually rewards are good £10 gets you a voucher choices like Argos, M&S, Sainsburys, Tesco etc.
My Survey UK (used to be lightspeed) - my favourite :D - rarely screened out good rewards. I just claimed another £25 John Lewis voucher but you can earn smaller rewards quicker e.g. 770 points for a £5 paypal payout.
NewVista Live - payout is £50 so takes a while to get there......
I also do YouGov but haven't had anything from them in a while.
See if you can get invited to the Consumer Pulse panel its a good one - I was a member but didn't log on for a couple of months as I was busy settling in to London and my account got closed :(.

PS Do you have a link for the snowballing?

Plans for today - nothing this morning.

Lying on the sofa with a cosy cover and my snowballing calculator, nursing the beginning of a cold and the remnants of a hangover.
Lunch with one of my best friends at 12, then dinner for our anniversary at our favourite local restaurant courtesy of a Groupon deal ages ago :D

  • Couldn't sleep because my cold was cutting off my breathing supply - so decided not to suffocate and get up and get something done. On reflection it was a rubbish idea:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

I cleared my inbox of surveys yesterday - I'm getting back into them. I'm building up a nice little stack of vouchers for the Christmas shopping :D.

Had a reasonably productive couple of hours (mostly on the Oz front though).

Had a look at the snowballing (love it)
Emailed my Uni for the transcript of my training
Emailed my old College for the transcript of my training
Emailed my secondary school for letter of confirmation that my education was taught and assessed in English.

Rules have changed and if I can provide the above they will believe that I have proficient English!! Saves me £115 and the stress of sitting the IELTS.:j

Also have emailed the local government office to make an appointment with a Justice of the Peace to certify our documents (cos its free as opposed to paying a Notary :D).

Going to Nandos for lunch with one of my best friends - but have a £10 Nandos voucher as a result of a complaint so my lunch will be free:money:.

  • £10 M&S voucher for the pot on its way from Valued Opinions ;)

I love my hubby - his anniversary gift to me is a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea brought to me whilst languishing under the covers on the sofa with only my laptop for company:heart2:.
