Littlecat...the application would also have asked If you had ever had any convictions...you lied by ticking No
"I have never been in trouble in 41years" you mean apart from when you drove without insurance, and then again when you failed to turn up to court to answer the first charge?
You say that you could understand it if it "was a deliberate act to hide it"..how is your now ex-employer supposed to know that you did not mean to hide it?
I have to say no matter how bruised you feel now...you need to accept that you made a mistake and have to take the consequences, reflect on what you did wrong, learn from it and in future answer all questions truthfully although I fear it will be more difficult to get another job due to being sacked. When you go for another job you need to address this incident truthfully....and a word of advice do not go in to the interview with the attitue you are displaying here....you need to show that you have reflected and learnt from the incident and accept that this was your fault not theirs
Oh i know it was my fault and not accusing anyone else of my stupidity0 -
Littlecat - Dont look for any sympathy from all the holier than thou's on here and the other two on the other thread you posted on. Just sign on, like me, and let these people who support a system that wants to punish you forever, keep you forever from thier taxes. I cant get work cos of a caution six years ago so now these people on here fund my benefits of more than a grand a month and will probably do so for the next 25 years. Ive spent most of yesterday and today sat in the sun replying to the other thread whilst that lot are stuck in a factory or office, so chill out, theres probably another 500,000 like me costing these medieval thinking types 6 BILLION a year in benefits:rotfl:Just a shame about all that wasted study as you will NEVER nurse, or probably work again
If you haven't noticed but we are in a recession! and it's going to get worse! that will mean the first thing that they cut is your benefits!! At the end of the day you can't beat Job satisfaction and making a positive contribution to society!
Make the most of that sun!!:rotfl:0 -
Littlecat.
Sorry to hear about this but you seem to be missing the point; This is about your NOT declaring a conviction - it is not about you being banned from driving years ago.
So, have you ever been asked about your convictions and answered that you did not have any, throughout the recruitment or induction process?
If you were asked, and lied; that is why you have been sacked. Not because of the conviction itself.0 -
Beaniebabe - They will stop benefits the day before they stop MPs pay and expenses so Im not worried. And if they do, then I wont starve. Just pray that its not your house that me and all the other scourges of society are burgling. I, for one, would do anything to escape so people may get hurt. Anyway, its raining today, so I will apply for as many jobs as I can find today, providing they want a CRB check, safe in the knowledge that my application will be discarded immediately. Work hard today, I need a few new tools for the garden. Littlecat - you may have made a mistake years ago and, to these peoples great delight, you have made another one now so even more reason to get horsewhipped. She has been fired from a job now ON TOP of her evil criminal activities so finding work will be doubly difficult now.0

Had 1 day off sick which was due to stress of manager telling me she was going to seek advice on what do to regarding CRB, me being stressful around my patients is not something i would do
You were on probation, you lied, and then you took a day off 'sick' for just being told they were checking; how reliable are you!. I would have sacked you as well.
Learn from it and move on.Life is too short to drink bad wine!0 -

Are you for real or just a troll??
If you genuinely believe what you're writing, then you need either help or putting down.
Just because you have a criminal record, it doesn't mean you can't have a job, and your attitude is pathetic.
One day, I'm quite sure all those on benefits will have to work for them.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Basic CRB checks rarely stop people getting a job if the potential employer is aware of any criminal charges that will appear on it - it is usually because some try to hide them. Any conviction will stay on the Police National Computer for at least 10 yrs and recently the 'weeding' of any convictions has been stopped.
An enhanced disclosure check can sometimes also provide the potential employer with any relevant information regarding allegations or police contact if violent, sexual, abusive, etc even if no charges were pressed.
What a frustrating situation for you. Try applying again for jobs even those with CRB disclosure as now you know what will appear and then the employer can decide what to do from there.0 -
Unfortunately for you Pinkshoes, I am real. My situation is real. I have applied for 8 jobs today, all requiring CRB checks and all ones I can do with my eyes shut. My caution from 6 years ago is fully declared and I will bet your life that I will not even get an interview, just like the previous 600+ I have applied for. Both JC staff and independant careers coaches have seen my apps and both have said they are of a very high standard. I have a large library of phrases that cover most of the job types I apply for, again viewed by JC staff and independants, that I can cut and paste into forms, so that I can show I have the required skills. When I was getting nowhere, I sent in duplicate, identical apps for around 10 jobs, one with caution declared and one without. Suddenly, I had 8 interviews but guess what! They were ALL for the ones with no caution mentioned. Now I skew the system for my own advantage. Does that stick in your craw? I live in a huge 4 bed detached farmhouse, with nearly an acre of land, all paid for by you and people who think like you. And I bet that I am not alone. I will admit that I once was of the same mindset as you, dmg24, 1jim and others, in that I had little sympathy for those bleating that ex-offenders are discriminated against. You made your choice, tough titty. Only when I sat down and really examined how short-sighted and wasteful to society it was, did I change my mind. This was before my dalliance with the law but now I believe it more than ever. The OP might just be an 'auxillary' as dmg24 so elegantly puts it, but even that must involve some skillset to be learned. If someone seriously wants to turn their life around or move on from a silly mistake, then any help and support needed should be given, and once a conviction is spent, it should be deleted, instead of bringing it up time and time again, years later, just to allow certain smug people to feel that they are better somehow than others.0

Did you want to help the OP in any way, or did you just fancy a(nother) rant?Gone ... or have I?0
