I sent a phone in on 22 Nov- they've acknowledged receipt and confirmed it's in working order, but no payment. Getting a bit concerned...

Edit: Just to update on this, I waited until Tuesday (4 Jan) and then rang them. They initially said they had already paid, but when I asked them to check they realised there had been a mistake. I received my money today (6 Jan).

I did email them a few weeks ago, and didn't get a response, but I was pleased with the service I got when I rang. So overall I would use them again.
  • anyone any more feedback recently? ive been offered £95 from simply drop but only £50 on other places but reviews seem mixed

Just used them, envelope didn't turn up, so wrapped it up and sent registered post, only 66p extra as it is freepost. Tracked it on their website a couple of days later, said it was received and processed. The next day had an email saying money was on it way. (envelope turned up over a week after requesting so recommend doing it yourself)
I would say it was a good service and price for my old phone.
  • Intersting mixed bag of responses, and I think mine is a mix too.

Short story. Bit poor at organisational element but got money within 2 days of them receiving the phone.

Long story. Checked using the site and found they were offering the best for my N5800. Registered interest and got an e-mail immediately. Requested a postal bag at the same time. This was on a Saturday.

A week later no bag, so I requested a new one the following Monday. This arrived on the Wednesday so that night I bagged up the phone but here's where I did one extra step that you might want to try. I took a photo of the working phone, the stylus beside it (they insist if your phone has a stylus you include it), and the postal bag with the reference visible. I included that photo in the bag with the phone.

Anyway I posted that by Special Delivery on Thursday. Checked on Friday to find........ it hadn't been delivered because the address has a redirect in place which meant it wouldnt be delivered until Monday. In the meantime I get an e-mail explaining that did I realise if they didnt receive the phone by the following wednesday the quote was no longer valid. I sent a pointed e-mail to their customer service explaining the situation and why it was delayed in postage, they responded politely telling me my quote would be honoured, and good as gold two days after they received the phone I received the full amount in my Paypal account.

I sent two Nokia 5800 Xpress's to these guys, considering they paid out £73 each, and on eBay I would have got around £55 for them, when taking in to account fees and postage. This is very rare. Normally, you do get a better price on eBay(All the major phone recycling companies were offering around the £70 mark) I sent them via special delivery, where I insured them up to £151.50 (£146 for 2 phones, and £5.50 postage) about 3 days ago. Today, I received £146 via PayPal-so it works out at £70.25 each. Im quite pleased with the service, though this may be because I used an automatic payment system, and because I chose special delivery

I sold mine and my mum's phone to them, and their boxes are still at home(ie: the original casing), so I'll be selling them on eBay, along with two 2GB Verbatim Micro SD cards, and two £10 Orange top ups, as these came with our new Orange San Francisco, or ZTE Blade, so technically it's sold for probably £78 and Ill sell the rest off, and it should come to around £84 hopefully, meaning that the San Francisco only costs £15 extra :)

For any one buying a new phone, I'd either recommend that phone or the Samsung Europa that can be bought for about £20 less
  • Thought I'd add my tupp'orth having read the mixed reviews. Was a little sceptical as the price offered for my phone was double anywhere else (usually use Mazuma).

First off the envelope ordered didn't turn up so I emailed in and asked for a replacement which arrived a couple of days later. Sent back special delivery which appears not to track properly due to redirection (po box?) but got an email from Simply Drop a couple of days later suggesting the phone had arrived and that they would send me the value quoted. Day or so later it turns up in my PayPal account.

PayPal being the only negative as I see it, having to wait "3-5" days for the money! Mazuma use same day FPS which is much more consumer friendly.

    Would use again.

Applied online on Wed, prepaid envelope arrived and sent (with two phones) yesterday lunchtime and by this morning I'd received an email saying that payment had been made to my PayPal account. I've withdrawn the money into my bank account, so that will be less than a week and perfect service. :j

    Highly recommended!:T

I got a quote a week ago for an ipod touch (£40) and now, all of a sudden, they arent taking them anymore. The mobile valuer site hasnt been updated however as yet, thats still quoting £40.

  • Very, very disappointed with Simply Drop. I've used other services beforewith no problem but these guy's take the biscuit. Firstly, they took an age (18days) to process the phone. Then they finally offered me £40 rather than the£240 originally quoted for my iPhone 4 16gb claiming that it wouldn't charge(It certainly did when i sent it). Finally trying to get a response from theircustomer service team is like pulling teeth. My advice is, there are plenty ofother professional services out there use them and avoid these clowns like theplague. Still awaiting the return of my phone by the way
  • Hi there,

I sent an I phone 4 almost 14days ago toSimply Drop. Unfortunately the service has been unprofessional with a lack of commitment to resolving the problem.

I've tried the following number to speak to someone at customer services 0845 505 0188. Unfortunately this particular number is routed to O2?? Could anyone provide me with the correct details please.... At least I can shout at someone... Or any further suggestions I'd be so grateful.

    Thank you
