Hello, you could just mix some lemon zest with regular buttercream, but mixing lemon curd would be nice too. Just mix in a tablespoon at a time until you're happy with the flavour.0

Hi guys
Looking for a lemon buttercream filling.
Heard people say use lemon curd. Do you just use that will standard buttercream?
Also how much if so
thanks
My mouth's watering just thinking about this. Yes, get some lemon curd and add it to your standard buttercream.
Also, a word of advice, don't buy the cheapest lemon curd because you can really taste the difference between the 23p jar and the 50p jarMFW 2019 #61: £13,936.60/£20,0000 -

Hi All
In rather a hurry last night I made weetabix cake (tesco value version!) and as I was in the middle of all sorts I took it out thinking it was cooked only to cut into it this morning to see it's tacky in the middle still.
Will tea time tonight (24hrs after the event) be took late to give it a boost in the oven again? If so, will it be ok to eat anyway? I would have to drench it in custard or something.
Annoyed with myself as it was the lunchbox treat for the kids
Your help is very much appreciated as I am on such a tight budget this month as some of you may have seen (other thread still to be updated in case anyone wondered)

I don't know about putting it back in the oven Debtfree - more experienced cake makers will advise better on that one but I wanted to say my mum was a fabulous cake-maker but of all her creations one that us kids enjoyed most, and I still remember to this day, was a fruit cake accidentally cooked at the wrong temperature. It was cooked perfectly on the outside but the middle was all gooey and delicious - us kids loved it! She refused to make us another like it though! :rotfl:Your cake will probably be the same - even if it's not perfect it will be full of good ingredients so I shouldn't worry too much. Taste and see.0

I usually put mine in the microwave if it isn't cooked, that way it doesn't get over brown.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Just sprinkle sugar on it?
Or could you scoop the innards out? Put them in a pan with added sugar, allow to cool a fair bit and then pout it back into your tart?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Perhaps serve the crumble with ice cream? Or serve it with custard made slightly sweeter?0
