Wow some powerful thoughts for you to ponder.
What I seem to have missed is why your OH doesent work?

However another issue has given me a wake-up call. My DS has been getting into trouble at school recently and today we were called in for a conference. It's surprised everyone as he has always been a good boy, but recently has been very defiant and it culminated in him trashing his classroom yesterday. I am very shocked and upset and think a lot of it may be due to his being rather neglected, with me being out at work all week and often occupied with running, politicking or whatever at the weekend. And my OH is very distracted and not very hands-on.

I'm not going to say anything about your OH, as I'm sure I can't add anything above what Chev has said.

However, how did you come to that bit in bold? What's your evidence? Or did you just pull out the "There's a problem - it's obviously my fault" idea?

Seax - big hugs honey. Full on advice & comments there- hope you're ok. I don't think there is anything I can say to add to anything, but know that many many people care for you and really want the best for you. You are a wonderful woman and deserve the best.

  • I can't add anything else re your OH- i am definitely in no position to do so. However as a Special needs teacher, i can offer some advice re your DS.

A lot of schools can offer anger management support for DS in school- I know because i do this. All it would take is for school to contact the SEN dept in your area, and get the appropriate support. That way you would all get the help you need, and you could and should stay in full time work. Don't feel guilty for working, giving it up is not the answer- just think sideways a bit and see what support is out there.

As a lurker more than a commenter I'm not going to add my thoughts. But today I did feel compelled to click the 'thanks' button on Chev's post - not something I usually do. Looking at the number of thanks confirmed to me that a few other people felt the same.

You've got a virtual cheerleading team here Seaxwyn, whether you know it or not. We all want what is best for you and the kids. Good luck as you ponder.
