Happy MSE birthday.
things have changed for you though ..you are in less debt than you were. You work in a full time job now and have the freelance work.So not all bad.
How's your Dad doing?0 -
Thanks ladies. Taxi, you joined just two days before me. We are practically MSE twins!
Yes I don't want to complain, but I've hardly made the same amazing strides as you two.
My dad is doing OK, thanks. My mum is coping very well with looking after him, and he is keeping his spirits up. I just went over and read bits out of the newspaper to him, I am so impressed by how he keeps an interest in everything that's going on, I'm sure if I lost my sight I'd be so wrapped up in feeling sorry for myself I wouldn't be bothered about anything else.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

didn't realise my 4th MSE birthday had passed..lol
Glad your DAD is doing ok and keeping an interest in things and adapting to his situation.
I'm sure you wouldn't react the way you think you would if it had happened to you as it's amazing what strength we can find to adapt to new situations. You are a coper as you've proved with carrying on with your debt busting with the obstacles that your DH puts in your way..0 -
Happy belated birthday to you too then Taxi!
Seaxwyn - we might have made amazing strides, but it broke my marriage, and it may not have helped in the fact that Taxi has cancer. Of course, it may be that these things were going to happen debt, or no debt, who knows....but where we have failed, you are still succeeding!!
As for your Dad - I am very sure that you would also adapt to new things too, and am very pleased to read that your mum and dad have been able to do so very quickly as well.

Right, in the mood to change things. I have given OH an ultimatum, he needs to shape up or get out. I have made these kind of threats before but hope this time I sounded a bit more serious. Also have told him we need to get rid of the car. We've been discussing getting rid of it for ages but neither of us has taken action so now I've laid down the law and OH will have to get rid of the blooming thing. We really don't need it, and I will join Streetcar so hope the one car based in our town will be available should I ever need it.
I think life would be much better if I could find a job closer to home. I don't know what jobs exist that would pay London wages, but please send requests to the universe to produce one for me!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
