I would do your SOA based on your anticipated new salary, but NOT on any income from OH - as you know, at the best of times this is unreliable, either because of lack of work, or because of his apathy in chasing or requesting payment etc (although hopefully that has changed).
But regardless of how efficient he is, any work he gets will be hit and miss, so much better to see that as "bonus" money at this point, and concentrate solely on what you know will be coming in.
If you use the whatsthecost calculator, it will give you a pretty accurate take home pay for your new salary - I would use that as your starting point, and it can then be adjusted if needed when the actual figure is given at the end of the month.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Woo hoo! OH has been hired to teach a photography course, starting in ten days' time. Probably only a few hours a week, but it is a good start. He will then be teaching a web design course in January. Thank goodness for that.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

New month, and my debt stands at 28037.01. That's a £292.12 drop from last month - not huge, but there were a lot of starting college expenses, and more than the usual quota of birthdays, weddings and leaving colleagues all requiring gifts.
A better figure is my natwest overdraft, which dropped £678.90 from the previous month - I hope I can keep this downward direction!
October will be a tough month as OH has no driving work at all, and won't get paid for the teaching til November.
I have an eight-day work trip to Sweden, during which all my food will be paid for, so I hope this will mean a noticeable drop in the home food budget! However I have to buy a new pair of shoes for the trip. I was pleased to find a really smart and well fitting suit in a charity shop for £6.50.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well done on the ever decreasing numbers :T All heading in the right direction. Your October sounds like my September was, but with a bit of extra effort and determination I got through, and of course you will too!
Sweden sounds fab - I hope you get to see plenty of it as well as just working!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
