Actually, I think you will find if you read back over this diary and Seaxwyn's previous diary, that for YEARS she has defended her OH against some of the things that other people have said.

Many of us wouldn't have had her patience or her dignity in what we know to be difficult circumstances.

She wasn't saying that punching him was the right thing to do - she was merely reporting what someone else said, and that for the first time she felt that, actually, she has the ability to do something about a situation that she does, quite clearly, want to be a workable one, for her, her OH and their children.

As for airing faults to all and sundry in real life - she was talking to a friend.

    That's what friends are for.

Life is not perfect. That's why we are here.

Perhaps the Op could spend more time working on her marriage

Think of a marriage like a coxless pair. Each may pull in a different place, but both must pull together and equally as hard otherwise they go round in circles. Her OH needs to spend more time working on their marriage to match the time she already spends. An individual does not have a marriage by definition.

and less time running the poor man down on here .

He has someone paying for him to live, but does not work similarly hard in the home. You either work similarly hard as the other person (either at work or in the home), or are incapacitated. There is no middle ground in this.

Imagine how you would feel OP if your OH aired all your faults to all and sundry , especially to people in real life ., especially ones who advocate punching your oh in the face ..........how could you let someone say something like that ?

Stop them? How? "How dare you say true things about my husband!" Oops - it's already been said at that point...

Thanks everyone. Pelirocco, I understand where you are coming from and feel uncomfortable at running down my OH, in front of strangers or friends, which is why I usually try to avoid the subject. Today it was a real relief to talk to someone who knows us both about the situation. I agree that the punching in the face comment sounds bad, its impact came from the fact it was said by someone who would never punch anyone. I was struck by the effect that the bare facts of our situation had on someone I consider sensible and non-judgmental.

Anyway, OH today sold some artwork for 200 dollars. I think that was really a lucky fluke but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Also, I got an interview for the job I applied for! It's at 9AM tomorrow! Please all send me your most positive vibes. From the job description, it sounds ideal, both for my career experience and my personal situation. However they are interviewing quite a lot of people over a few days, and I will be the first, so whatever good impression I make might be diluted by those that come after. But I will give it my best shot.
