You don't need good luck for tomorrow - you just need more confidence, so I shall wish you more of that and hope it all goes well."Green pastures are before me,

Thanks all. The interview was interesting. I liked the interviewer (who would be my boss and only colleague) and I think he was impressed by my experience and knowledge. But I think really he is looking for someone younger and less experienced, but full of energy and willing to work all hours. Also, the pay is an issue. He is offering quite a bit less than my current salary, and I can't afford a drop. So it's not really possible.
I'm not completely giving up hope, as it could turn out that none of the other people are quite up to scratch (though that seems unlikely) and perhaps he would have to shift a bit on the money. I was the first person he saw, so I think my CV may have impressed him the most.
Anyway, it's all in the hands of the gods now.
Tomorrow I'm taking three of the kids to a little festival for the weekend. I am so looking forward to being away from work, home, computers, telephones.... it's a hippy festival with poetry writing workshops, singing round the campfire, and the like - bring it on!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well done on the interview. Go blow them away!:j:j
ETA sorry didn't see your comments about the interview before I wrote this. oops. Sorry that it might not be the right fit for you. Keep looking.
And well done on OH selling some stuff. Just keep up a bit of pressure on him and all will be well.
Good luck on moving forward

ps I understand how shocked you must have been at your friend. I would NEVER advocate spousal abuse, even as a fantasy. However I think you are amazing to still be together and agree with what ZTD wrote about BOTH of you needing to pull together etc.I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Oops, sorry - I got my days muddled up. What's meant to be, will be and all that. Still, at worst, you know you can impress and your CV can get you interviews and there are jobs out there; at worst, well, it wasn't to be this time, but that doesn't mean there won't be something around the corner soon.
And you see what a bit of firmness with your OH can achieve? Sometimes it takes something like your friend's comment to galvanise us into action. Keep up the pressure and things could be turned around.
Enjoy the festival - put all thoughts of work and overdrafts out of your head and just live for the moment."Green pastures are before me,

Have a great weekend...think it'll do you good to have some nice chill out time x
As for the job I totally agree with Wordmiths sentiments...xxxx0 -
I have a balance transfer dilemma. I've got just over £2000 on a credit card that is coming to the end of its 0% period. I have two options for transferring it:
my Sainsbury's CC: 2.95% for 24 months, plus 3% fee
OH's Santander CC: 0% for 12 months, plus 3% fee.
Which is the better option?
I'm inclined to put it on his, then let him take responsibility for paying it. That way I could cross £2k off 'my' debt. But is the longer deal better, as it's unlikely it will be paid off in a year so would end up being moved again.
Thoughts welcome!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
If it isn't going to be paid off, then the Sainsbury one is better because of the surety. Interest rates could be anything next year as could transfer fees."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
